my view. ha

fri morning chris sent me an email asking me to read judges 11:29-39 or something like that. so i did.  and i emailed him right back with what i got from the text.  chris often emails or leaves me notes with verses to read and share with him what i feel about it.  so this email is nothing new.  anyways

i emailed him something like this- my take on the passage?  im outta here for 2 months, ALONE, to bewail my virginity.  see you in june"

funny how you can read the same passage and get a different view point. ha

we did have a more serious chat about vows/saying what you mean/your word is your bond etc later that night when the kids were in bed. when it was quiet. haha!

the passage is below if your interested in it. haha

Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh, and passed through Mizpah of Gilead; and from Mizpah of Gilead he advanced toward the people of Ammon. 30 And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord, and said, “If You will indeed deliver the people of Ammon into my hands, 31 then it will be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the people of Ammon, shall surely be the Lord’s, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering.”
32 So Jephthah advanced toward the people of Ammon to fight against them, and the Lord delivered them into his hands. 33 And he defeated them from Aroer as far as Minnith—twenty cities—and to Abel Keramim,[a] with a very great slaughter. Thus the people of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel.

Jephthah’s Daughter

34 When Jephthah came to his house at Mizpah, there was his daughter, coming out to meet him with timbrels and dancing; and she was his only child. Besides her he had neither son nor daughter. 35 And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he tore his clothes, and said, “Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low! You are among those who trouble me! For I have given my word to the Lord, and I cannot go back on it.”
36 So she said to him, “My father, if you have given your word to the Lord, do to me according to what has gone out of your mouth, because the Lord has avenged you of your enemies, the people of Ammon.” 37 Then she said to her father, “Let this thing be done for me: let me alone for two months, that I may go and wander on the mountains and bewail my virginity, my friends and I.”
38 So he said, “Go.” And he sent her away for two months; and she went with her friends, and bewailed her virginity on the mountains. 39 And it was so at the end of two months that she returned to her father, and he carried out his vow with her which he had vowed. She knew no man.
And it became a custom in Israel

last fri

joey helped me cook supper. shes quite the little helper you know
i can loan her to you if you like, shes really great at making an easy job more work! haha

last fri we had our last curling session for the yr. ellie and nate really enjoyed it.  the group decided to do it again next yr but put them in levels where they can work their way up to join teams.  personally, i love my curling time.  me, coffee and friends with 1 kid= easy conversation!
joey was talking to her stuffies. i love listening to her babble and talk
fri night last week after i put the girls to bed i came down to find company in the back yard!  DUCKS!
 so cute.
ive also decided that my favorite time of day is when i put the girls to bed, clean the house. sit and enjoy the SILENCE. can i get an AMEN!  this is the time adam and god would walk and talk in the garden in the cool of the day, and now i know why its so darn enjoyable!
so.  last saturday my friend was heading to maine to pick up her packages and asked if wanted to go with her for the day.  HECK YES!  im right on that.

she picked me up at the ungodly hour of 7 AM.  we drove the 3 hrs to the border.  went through the border, passed our pass ports over, explained why we were entering to hear "please pull ahead, park the car, and come in"

im like WHAT THE WHAT?  ive NEVER been called in.  aralee said "i KNEW this would happen. sorry.  its my sons fault" then she explained to me that she always gets a hard time entering because her son moved to the states to go to school, ended up staying anf getting married. its all done legally BUT he did not wait to get approval from border/customs and instead got approval through a lawyer to get married. the border patrol will ALWAYS pull her in

so off we went.  it was literally like the show border patrol.  the guy we had was nice, but really he was not that nice. after grilling me and determining i have nothing to hide,  i sat and waited, and waited, and waited. i would have taken pics bec it was so funny.  but they took my phone. and went through it!  they read my texts, looked at photos, went through email. you name it. it was quite funny...

after 45 mins, a car check, a back ground check, they checked everything they could think of. they finally allowed 2 40 yr old moms into the country to pick up parcels at the post office

oh ya, we went to mardens and walmart. i spent 20.30. i skipped dollar tree.

coming home we had to go in to pay taxes.  aralee paid 40 and they let me go, haha.  so after adding the gas, taxes, and post box fees we calculated that it is still 100 CHEAPER to drive to maine to pick up orders than ship form the states to canada

we waited to enter canada to get supper. haha

it was a lovely day of driving and talking and i got to meet the border patrol.  man, those dudes are NOT nice! 3 comments

thursday morning nate had his science class.  this is his last yr, then ellie will be taking the classes. they are kinda pricey so i only want to pay for 1 kid at a time to attend. ha

thurs afternoon i had my dentist appoint. it was lovely. i was given at ativan to take, it was amazing.  i didnt hear one mom the whole time. i was able to be alone, and after the appointment use the bathroom with out an audience.  then came home to sleep for 2.5 hrs.  wake up and have supper. and well, i dont actually remember much of thurs...apparently i had a great conversation with my dad on the phone. i have almost no memory of it....i also agreed to paint another picture and send it to the group the next day. so next time im taking ativan please take my phone away! 0 comments

spring

i think its spring!  the ground is wet and muddy. the days are longer, the birds are singing...and ellie's pet squirrel-which is called brown eyes- comes every morning for food.  this is the area ellie set up. kleenex, water, food and a hat to use as a hammock ha
i was marking nates work and found this. awe
dad, you asked if joey uses her desk. why yes she does. and this is what i would consider "clean"
she uses it every day, when she wakes up she goes in and makes a picture and slides it under my door
 she loves her crafts
so. i resolved the fact that i killed my plants. i tossed them out. i have 2 bamboo (that you really cant kill) and a fern that is suppose to be easy to keep alive. i cleaned the table off and came back to this.  ellie and joey went and made their own plants from grass, got a water jug. and a phone so they can text me
and you wonder why my house is always a mess! 0 comments

walk in the park

my sinuses are really bad. i cant breath or taste food. it sucks.  so ive been trying to stay inside and get better.  yesterday i had to run errands and i thought lets go to the park after.  so being homeschoolers we left the house in pj's....really why change? its just more laundry for me. we really enjoyed the park

we went stroller FREE!!!!!!  joey walked im guessing 1.5 km!  we all really enjoyed it
 my goof troop
ellie said "shhhhh can you hear the birds and water?"
 "shhhhhh i hear the animals"
we checked the water, poked it, then looked at the trees, poked some leaves, made some bubbles
laughed and i let them be LOUD
 then joey climbed the hill!
alone!
 i was impressed
and this is why i didnt change her.  why? when she would get all dirty
 ha. love it
ellie's mug shot after we told her she was in danger and on thin ice

the girls planted a garden and made a sign that read "garden. dont touch. plant is growing"
these are the silly things i see all day.  they crack me up. a puppy on a scooter!
ellie wanted proof that she was in my bed.  i love that they sleep HARD after so much time outside.  ellie didnt wake when i moved her to my bed. i took a pic to prove she was there. ha
