so nana and papa came for 4 days! and somehow we were too busy having fun that i didnt take 1 single pics of the kids or nana and papa!  seriously!  i was not n my routine, and didnt take 1 pic.  but trust me, we had a good visit an the kids loved visiting their grandparents

chris came home with a bucket filled with red grapes from our neighbor down that road (at the cabin) chris took them and started a batch of wine with them
not sure how it will turn out, but so far, its the best tasting grape juice that ive had in a long time! hahah

cabin cleaning

i took mom to the cabin tues night, i had to clean it for the weekend, we gave the cabin to ppl we know, so it wasnt a rental but i still wanted it to be clean...mom came and helped and i was done faster!  i snapped a few pics of the property while the floors dried.

the drive way that chris was working on.  looking good!
the etra shale and stone to raise the corners for easier driving in the winter and spring

wed mom and dad left. the original plan was to make a trip to the rocks with the home school group, but it was raining and yucky out.  so we canceled and hit up the library for the STEM class. free crafts that i dont have to do?! score for me. ha
while the kids worked away i read this book. i picked it up thinking the girls could read it, but its more nate age approp. it was EXCELLENT!  the true story of a little girls who died in Auschwitz leaving her brother to tell her story 59 yrs later.  so good!
wed night we opened our package from chris's cousin in switzerland
the kids liked what they found. haha

fam day pt 1

i literally went up to use my bathroom and came down to this!  it took the girls 5 mins to make this from the front door to the kitchen table....its a train!  sigh!

fri was so nice out, we skipped the book learning and i tool the kids to the beach!
 the girls ran and ran
 found treasures and fun
so nice to have the place to ourselves!  we were there for about 3 hrs.  we had lunch, the kids played, i listened to the sound of the waves crashing
so peaceful. this is a good reason why i home school.  i needed a day away.  i needed quiet and a few minutes to enjoy the sun. the kids enjoyed it too!
 so much fun!
the kids went to dig in the sand and make sand castles, i dug out my paint supplies.  so relaxing...i painted while the kids played
 my view
nate went off on his own for a bit too
then it was time for the girls to work in their nature journals...
drawing what they saw, found and treasure
then it was time to find a new trail an off we went
so thankful for sunny fall friday afternoons that i can do this with the kids. i released i need to do this more

pt 2!

after the beach, we hit up the irving tree park.  there was a church that was open, so we went in and chatted to the lady who let us explore the building.  joey enjoyed the balcony
then we hit up the park. i was impressed by how much the kids walked.  we walked for a good 45 mins!
and stopped to take pics along the way
 joey found a mini horse!
 the scenery
 the gardens
 more gardens
 the pond with fish
 enjoying!
 a neatest gazebo!
then we found a picnic table to work again in our nature journals.
ellie was inspired enough to write!  like more than a sentence!  she wrote a good 2 paragraphs!
nate read!  after another snack, we hit the road to meet up with dad
bec it was late getting home, we took the kids to mcdees (coupons haha) and let them PLAY!
 and climb!
and that was a very quick peek into our week!
