albert county museum!

the last trip for the fall...the albert county museum!  its 15 mins for my house. ive wanted to visit but discovered the cost would be 40 for my family...i turned it into a school trip!  i was able to book a tour with them for 5/kid!

i was impressed! this quiet little museum had so much history stuffed inside! we had a guide, she was engaging and informative. answered all my questions! and i had a few!

there are 7 buildings to explore in total! the bank, municipal house, the jail, court house, barn, tax house and information area

i tried to not take pics with ppls faces in them (insert eye roll) so my pics are boring. haha
the court house. i think its the best place for a wedding!
there was 2 floors and the kids were allowed to explore the whole building!

the barn is on the left jail on the right
jail!

this fantastic mosaic!
and again, a beautiful fall day where the colors popped! the fundy river is in the back ground

the kids were given an activity to work on. while they worked on it in the court house with the guide, i was FREE for an hour to roam the property myself!  that was the high light. so many amazing things to see and learn!

the hall, which can be rented. with the stage. what a cute place to put a show on!

we were there for 3.5 hours. if i was alone, i would have stayed longer.  i took a 100 pics of all the things i found but i wont bore you with that. ha.  i love history!

that was the last trip for awhile.  we were away every day for a month! i over scheduled us but we had a lot of fun! we made a few new connections and had lots of play dates.  im feeling socially tired so im pulling back on activities

oh! but i did join mom's club. we meet every tues morning. the kids are in a home school class and im free to be alone. that's literally the high light of my week.  we will continue that for the year, as well as zoo camp.  and possibly fridays at the y

but a part of me is longing so simplicity and quiet.  to sit and enjoy. to walk the trails with my dog, coffee and meaningful conversations.  theres something special about slowing down....

and look at that!  im only 2 wks behind on the the blog!  crossing fingers ill have a chance to blog more!  the kids enjoy looking through the family blog!

2 weeks ago we made windchimes.  it was really busy class.  i didnt take any pics!
3 wks ago was fall leaf collection bags

my "serious" read.  it was the book club book for this yr, but ive decided to simplify my life and im not attending in person...i also delated and removed myself from so many extra, time consuming, life and energy sucking activities!  i LOVE it! and the book is really encouraging!
i had a few mins one night after dropping nate of at cadets. i bought this book at chapters for full price. read it in 2 days.  its everything the reviews are saying...!
thanksgiving this year was quiet!  we did raclette!  always a hit!

i decided to read one of nate's school books. it was inspiring and wonderful!  its "the happiest man on earth"  and i enjoyed the conversations nate and i had about what we read
dentist time!  joey came to be with ellie, she had a cavity filled.  she brought a book and kept busy!
nate's gr 11 first semester books

im absolutely loving bob jones!  i dont have the teachers guide, so i am required to find the answers but at 150 for JUST the teachers guide, ill read the book!

world history and lit is by bob jones

math is always math u see

science is marine bio. there is a lot of information in this book, the modules are quite intense. i may cut some things out.  so far, nate's enjoying it and i am HAPPY that he's taking school seriously this yr. much better for us!

poetry.  im suprised. so far this is nate's best sunject...grades wise
candian history.  love, love this book.  im following ambleside.org for canadian/language selections.
 philosophy is also being covered

nate is also doing Shakespeare, and many, many books....ill post later

bunny snuggles!
love this bunny! love that im still in shorts in october!
poor sick and tired girl.  she fell asleep one evening as i was reading
meeka!
sigh. we knew this day would come.  so nibbles the family rat went to join cocoa in the big sky and land of rats.  ellie was DEVESTATED.  it was awful to watch her mourn for her pet rat. this little guy was the best rat pet.
it took a day for him to pass.  i held ellie and we prepared her for the end.  he finally died monday while the girls were at zoo camp.  nate was holding him and took a video of his final moments.
so good!!!!!!!  im starting the family remains as soon as i can
back to the dying rat.  love these two.  nate can be a real turd (arent we all!) but he knows when to pull out the big brother love when its important.  he was so kind to her, took the death seriously, and has been there for her.  last night he took her to watch a movie, just the 2 of them.  they were up until 10:30! which would explain the sleep in today!  joey slept until 10:30!  ellie 9!

i rehoused the bunnies.  since we dont cage meeka anymore i had 2 large dog cages!  i put "sir lord king gerald the 1st" in his own cage

he has to be kept away from the other 2

staples!  it reminds me of that 1990's game show and the 1960's family show
the bunnies!  the top cage has tucker and maple

the bottom is nate's sir what ever....
