lego table

so, we solved the problem of ellie getting into nates lego creations and destroying them.  i loaned the swing to jon and jess to use for baby copper, so i put an old table we had in the basement in place of it.  now nate has his own lego table and lego storage and ellie cant get into it.  now im in the process of training ellie to stay away from nate's lego. she loves to play with it!
he loves having his own spot but hes still in the room with us
nate tried to tell me that his clothes matched.  red and red. sigh. i give up.  i told him they were the wrong shade of red, the pants are too short and the top is fine. hahahaha
 ellie, happy ellie!
my 3 kids, cuddling under the blankets. its been SO cold this week -16-20!  i cant remember it being this cold in a long time! 4 comments

ellie

 playing with her kitchen
bawahhhh i found her "honey" as she calls it dbl protected. haha

ellie is so funny, her vocab is really picking up. she is often found saying

"oh, ok then!"
"alright!"
"why not?"
"daddy is gone to work"
"i hear jo jo cry, do you?"
"lets bath jo jo!"
"i love you"
but its so funny to ask her a question and hear her respond with the correct answer e.g yesterday i asked her where her juice was and she said "down stairs in the fridge"

or ill ask her to go get my ipad from my night stand and off she goes, bringing it back with her

you know what this means??? i now have 2 kids to go get me things. hahaha awesomeness!

hsppy new year everyone! 0 comments

the girls

jo totally got the food eating concept.  she caught on the fastest of them all
 and loves to jump
ellie is our little player, she is always playing, she went and got her disney set out yesterday morning, by herself! and set it up!  then went and got her coloring book and crayons and colored.  i am amazed by how different each kid is
first breakfast all together at the table!  this morning, we all sat and ate together for the first of many more to come!
so, i am attempting to potty train ellie tomorrow. she found her big girl underwear yesterday and SLEPT with them. she loves them. haha this am she would not stop holding them....i hope she will cooperate with this potty business....

new years nightmare!

i loaded up the older 2 new years eve around noon to drive up to freddy to join up with my parents, who had been there since sun enjoying a much needed vacay! and my sis and her brew who spent the week in the states, to celebrate the new year. i thought about bringing jo and chris but really, 3 kids in a hotel room is NOT my idea of a fun night. ha. so chris and jo stayed home and went to a party with some friends....anyways!  i got my map, printed off of google and started my drive

about 20 mins into it ellie wasnt being herself. she looked like this.....i decided to keep an eye on her and keep driving. about 30 mins later i knew something wasnt right so i pulled over on the highway to investigate. as soon as i got her door open she turned and opened her mouth....and puked into my hands!  i threw it on the ground and caught the next batch of barf.....i cleaned her up as best i could, took off her sweater coated in barf and wiped her pants off....then decided to keep driving....

as i got to freddy, i realised that my google map SUCKED and did NOT give me the directions.  after driving 15 mins in the wrong direction, i pulled over again to catch MORE of ellie's barf, called chris and got more frustrated and decided to follow my gut and go in the opposite direction....

about 15 mins later i once again pulled over to...yep!  catch more barf!  this time it was the worst and i ended up stripping ellie down, i was about 15 mins away from the hotel, i was out of wipes, clean clothes and ready to cry
ellie was covered in barf.  she threw up another time on the way to the hotel
i met dad at the parking lot where he got a blanket to wrap my baby girl in and carried her to the room for me.  ellie didnt say a word....sob....i then got her in the tub, hosed the barf off of her and let her rest with some fluids....after an hour or so she was good to go!

i learned a lesson thou, i can handle myself under pressure and NEVER follow google maps again. but call my dad for specific directions instead!!! 1 comments
after ellie rested we headed up to the party
where the kids enjoyed quinn's party
 ellie waved hi. ha

nana lead ellie in the cup cake walk
shawn called the number with great enthusiasm
 ellie won a cup cake!
happy new year, oh how my new years have changed!
we made another mess....great idea to give them party popper cry! ha

nye party!

after a supper of subs, we headed up to quinn's room for his planned party. quinn did an AMAZING job planning the party, everything was organized, prepared and planned. i was ubber impressed!  we played some games

then made a mess
ellie was in party mode. wearing nate's hoodie (she was out of clean, clothes)
we got them dressed for some swimming
nate and his ladies
 the group of older kids
it was so fun to watch ellie and charlie play together!
after swimming and showers we headed up for the last bit of the party. stories by the fire place. it was the high light for me to watch. the kids told stories
 and quinn lead the circle
then shawn did the new year count down. at 8:30. hahaha
and i took the kids back to my room. ellie slept with me, what a snuggle bug she is!

we woke up bright and early at 7 to head home.  dad went to start and warm my car up for me bec it was brutally cold, i mean -20 something cold.  guess what??? my car wouldn't start!!!!

sob sob sob

after a good 2 hours shawn came to the rescue and got it started. then we headed home.....i was blown away by how many things went wrong, but more so i was impressed by how well i handled myself under the pressure....esp having the kids with me

i am SO thankful for shawn thou, he really went out of his way, in the cold to get my car going....you rock shawn! 0 comments
