pt 2

we arrived EARLY! ans spent time investigating and enjoying. then we met our tour guide and sat in on a quick lesson. this leader was SO good.  you could tell he loved his job, enjoyed kids, supported home schooling and was full of knowledge
we hit up the board walk, leaving the acadian woods, over the soft marsh
 it was so beautiful
then we chatted and listened to more information about the importance of soft marshes
then we hit up the lagoon.  our guide instructed us and let the kids go to explore, catch and discover
 and off they went
 why so sad joey girl?
she fell in the water and was soaked.  so i took her to the bathroom, stripped her and used the hand dryer to dry her clothes! lol
but i missed some of the teaching of the lagoon wild life :(
we came back to catch more specimens
nate borrowed chest waders....oh and i discovered that nate has out grown his rubber boots and bogs :(

pt 3

 more specimen  catching
with dry clothes joey got back into the action
ivy getting in close to the captured specimen
 what we found
then we hit up the beach for a good hr and then went to another park and found a hut with a fire stove, lisa's hubby started the fire! and the adults were able to eat lunch in a heated room and chat for hrs.

one thing i am so grateful for is my home school community.
while we chatted the kids played outside.  climbed trees and enjoyed the freedom home education provided
 3 of my "today"kids
the drive home joey had my camera. she took this. haha
 nate took this
it was such an enjoyable day.  the kids were outside, getting wet and dirty. learning about lagoon life and making friendships...

i think this was my 2nd fav home school trip.  the first being the soap factory, then this...if my friend was there it would be # 1...hahaha

but tomorrow, i told nate we MUST get some book work done! haha 1 comments

sunday!

i had to take a pic of little miss ellie.  she had the cutest outfit on!  pink-fly sandals, an adorable elephant print top with a matching  pink jacket and a green purse.  SO cute
the back of her shirt  crossed over and i would totally wear it if it came in my size!
 joey wanted a pic too!

i took a pic to prove to my friend that i did register AND i got in!
after church i went and grabbed groceries, came home, unpacked, then made supper to take to the land for a family evening fire

i arrived to this at the driveway!
chris laughed and laughed.  a toilet at the end of the driveway!! lol. this is the back story, Chris got an industrial toilet at an auction last yr, he installed it but i didnt like it! it was too high and the shape was weird. the kids didnt like it as well. so chris got us an "off" white toilet off kijii for free (yes, i cleaned it) and installed it for us, and put the industrial toilet...which i know know are larger and more oval in shape than a regular toilet. ha...who knew!  he put the toilet at the end of the driveway for fall pick up. but i was like "NOOOOO, take that away!!"

chris also told me that the grass was cut down in front of the old pathway to the land, that we covered up and its now noticeable from the hway.  NO!
i talked to chris and told him that i think its super important to cover this back up to close the land off!

sun pt 2

chris showed me all that he did on sat.  i decided to stay home sun from the land and play catch up on school, house work and meal prep. the kids also wanted to spent the day playing with their neighbor hood friends. chris spent sat working on insulating around the back of the cabin and filling it in by hand
the girls brought their back packs. they love them
drain pipe and insulation (in white)
 my girls
after i had chris start the fire. i admit, im scared to start it...i ran off to my happy place.
 me
 alone. in the trees=bliss
my view. so beautiful. so thankful. the sacrifice is going to be worth it
me! no make up, full on grey hair!
the kids wanted to start their own fire. so they went off and got everything they needed. gravel for the base, rocks to go around and wood
 voila!  nate making his fire
 his sisters helped
we were out there until 7ish or so.  it was so nice. i imagine the times when we can stay out there all night....have a cook out, put the girls to bed, sit by the fire, put nate to bed, sit by the fire alone...then go to bed with no noise other than the sound of the wind through the trees....someday...

it was the most enjoyable day! 0 comments
