it's all fun and games

birthday

ellies face when nate told her he was leaving for florida. she is going to miss her brother!

friday was my 42 birthday. i wasnt sure how i would feel, to be honest the last 6 months ive struggled with life. i was a bit concerned that this whole aging thing would freak me out. up to now, i havent thought much about how i look getting older. grey hair and wrinkles dont bother me nor chris...but with going through what i am, i was a bit concerned....so the day came and went and i felt nothing. zip. nada. nothing. i actually had a GREAT day. prob one of my best birthdays

chris took an hr off in the morning so i could stay in bed an extra hour. nate made me breakfast. all by himself

then chris came home for 3, and my family all came out to the land for a fire. joey napped the whole way there

we had supper, cake, the boys played with the backhoe. it was a great time. thanks you for coming! i got gifts, flowers and chocolate. it was a great birthday. thanks chris for planning it for me

and thats a quick wrap. i cant believe we are heading into the last of august! CRAZY how fast the summer went by....CRAZY how little i did on my "summer to do list" like NOTHING other than nate's room and i read 2 books. haha

and with that im running into monday with laundry and food prep. that just never ends....oh yeah and breaking up fights....thats a daily job...sometimes hourly....haha 0 comments

zoo

it has been awhile since our last zoo visit. i picked a day that was cooler....and not so busy....it was BRUTAL cold! we all had shorts and hoodies on. so cold. nate sat like this

my legs looked like this. in the MIDDLE OF AUGUST!

but we had a good time. i took the dbl wide stroller, it was awesome. no fighting over who sits in the stroller, lots of storage. and i was able to zoom the girls all over the park to see what they wanted to... our typical zoo visit is 2-3 hrs. we have totally used up the 140 cost. ill prob get one next yr too

we visited the otters. those silly playful beasts

and the choice animal of the day was the deer. we spent 45 mins watching and feeding them

and i rested in the dbl wide. haha

i stopped for tims on the way home, got the kids some tim bits. we went to visit chris because he was going to the land that night and i wanted to see him for a few mins...joey crashed. tim bit in her hand on the way to see chris. when she woke up AFTER the visit (the kids went to the park) chris was gone, nate was in the front seat and she said "where daddy go?" with a mouth full of tim bit that was in her mouth when she fell asleep... haha. she didnt see chris that day.

rainy sat

saturday chris spent 12 hrs clearing the land in the rain, nate was with him for a few hrs and i picked him up around lunch to head back to the house. we painted rocks for this project going on in moncton called "moncton happiness rocks" you paint a rock and leave it for someone to find it. the kids painted for an hour! i gave ellie and joey washable paint. good thing cause by the time joey was done she was COVERED in paint!!!

nate did a great job too

and it passed time on a rainy afternoon

after i put the girls to bed nate and i hung out playing board games...thats his love language so i find myself playing games more...as long as it is kept fun and not competitive ill play!

sun morning while i was getting ready fir church the kids pulled a prank on me. they set traps for me. haha

nate picked me flowers the other day

sigh. so in a 5 min time span joey clogged the toilet with toilet paper that i got to stick my hand in the toilet to unclog! yipeee then she washed her hands, and her face, her eyes and her HAIR! with SOAP! i washed the soap from her eyes and grabbed my phone for a pic...then i took her to the kitchen sink to wash her hair....this was 10 mins before we had to leave for the dr!! and chris asked why supper wasnt packed when he got home. hahaha

ellie had her big 5 yr old check up today! she is coming in a bit small on the weight and height chart....not that i follow those silly things, but her eyes, heart, ears etc were perfect! and she got her vaccination. and didnt cry/scream/freak out....she did a small cry when it was all over

the land pt 1

joey crashed on the way home from the dr and napped for 45 mins...she was out cold!

chris finished the culvert last week and we added a load of gravel and crushed stone over top. this is where the drive way will start

now we have a place to park the van

i was blown away with how much chris got done on saturday. the start

cleared trees from the right

the center and left. chris needs to take down the 4 big trees shown here and clear out the smaller trees and brush. the plan is to build the storage shed/wood shed and put it to the right of the trees in this pic
