sunday!

the girls moved up in their classes at church on sunday.  ellie is in kids world now!  with NATE!!  what the heck??? joey is in the 3 yr old class. and she loved it!  yeah for having the kids in a great church!  i did joeys hair in a twist, it looked adorable and in typical joey fashion was a mess by the time we came home from church
 sisters
joeys face when we told her there were dinosaurs in her new class to play with.  ha
sunday afternoon we all went to the land for a long visit.  chris left his tools at home to insure that we just spend time together.  we checked out the work his has done on the shed/wood storage.  nate was impressed too
the wood shed will be where the wood floor is
 nate with his machete
nate making a fire with flint. or trying too.  ha  he bought a machete, flint, a knife, a watch, shoes and candy on his trip.  i was impressed with how he spent his money
 me!
ellie brought her bag from nana and papa with treats for dessert, she shared all of it with us.  im impressed with all the changes in her over the summer. she is quick to share with her siblings, even her candy!
the first of the maple leafs that are changing color. on OUR land!  so fun to say that
my little monkey joey. she is just fun to be with
joey went missing for a few minutes and i found her. in my hammock.  i curled up in this bad boy for most of the visit, i had about 10 mins alone. haha
 always smiling
more fire building.  we were all there to watch
 ellie too
it was prob one of the best days ive had since june.  the whole afternoon was relaxing. the fire, the food, the hammock.  watching the kids run and play.  we werent in a rush and had lots of time.  we left when the sun started to go down because ellie told us she was tired and wanted to go to bed!  ha.  next time thou, i will bring a blanket to snuggle down in.  fall is definitely here, its much cooler out....i dont mind. i think after the crap-tast-ic summer i had, im welcoming a change!

and since today was labour day and the kids go back to school tomorrow. i thought id dig out ellie's kindergarten stuff.  not that my kids are going back anytime soon....i am about 24 hrs of solid work away from even being close to start school. haha

sorting through k stuff. its been 5 YEARS since ive seen this stuff!  how did time go by so fast?!?!
joey came to help me.  and by help she means making MANY messes for me to clean up while trying to sort and label, purge and clean. ha
 not wanting to do this!
after 5 yrs, i dug it out.  nate was 5 when i made this.  ellie was 3 months.  joey was not even on my mind... so many changes
 ha!
i cant believe im starting my 6th yr of home school!  how CRAZY is that???

im aiming to start back at the end of october....chris is on vacation for 2 weeks.  so in between being with the kids, helping him at the land and life school isnt going to happen. i do hope to plug away at the school room this week.... 0 comments

desk!

we made some pictures the other day with wooden stencils, ellie did a great job.  joey passed us the colors and then decided to trace her hand...resulting in her coloring her nails. haha
ellies desk arrived on tuesday and daddy helped (ok did all of it) set it up. the girls wanted to help like always...
so chris gave joey the job of holding the metal pole. and she did this very seriously for about 5 mins. which is a really long time for joey
"im helping dad! im a BIG girl"
 ellie joy!
after her new desk was put together she went and got a chair from nate's room then set up her desk with books, paper, markers, pencils and much to her dismay. no erasers.  i dont have any. ha  i think she might be my studious child.  she loves to learn!
me on the other hand....i think i might puke when i think about starting school.  i walked out of the room back in june and havent been back.  for real. other than to dump stuff of my desk, the computers been off since june.  i am NOT ready to go back.  i feel like i had such a bad summer, it was not enjoyable, the LAST thing i want to do is get ready for school...esp ellie.  i have hours of work to do....and no pizazz to even want to start. ive decided i need a redo summer!
back to ellie, showing me her school stuff. ha
then she joined me late at night to cuddle it was about 10. an she was still awake!
i on the other hand was ready for bed. ha
the days are long but the years are quick
the high light of the week was discovering a new splash park about 15 mons from the house with 2 play parks, lots of shade and seating for moms.  it was such an enjoyable afternoon i didnt take one pic!  we met up with friends so the kids played and i was able to have adult chatter...sweet! 0 comments

ice cream!

 silly girls in the car!
love it, ellie was playing "help me i fell" it was funny to watch
we met up with daddy at the "water mountain" park, we enjoyed a coffee and girls time...until joey said "i have to pee" there was no bathrooms so she sat down and PEED!  what?????  i was glad i had a pair of pants and underwear in the car. sure the pants were size 24 MONTHS. chris and i were like "really jo?" sigh
last night we finally took the girls for their treat from nana and papa.  they could not believe their eyes.  they each got their OWN ice cream! normally they share.  i had a blizzard dbl chocolate fudge brownie for myself. it was AWESOME.  chris had a burger and fries. haha

ohhhhhh
 for me????
 ICE CREAM!!
she could not believe it was for her and she did not have to share with ellie
 mmmmmmmmm
messy ice cream. and guess who was covered in melted, sticky mess? i know, its a shock. JOEY! ha
 mmmmm more ice cream
what a fun treat for us to have. something we would never do.  thanks mom and dad!

the land and girls

the giggling, the laughing the fun a blanket and a tile floor can have!  the girls had a lot of fun sliding each other on the blanket...its the simple things that encourage me to smile
i took the girls to the land last night, normally its a 30 min drive from my driveway to the property but with construction traffic it took me 45 min to get there!  i snapped a few pics
the shed tresses
the trailer filled with wood, all ready to go
the columns chris poured last week and the pipe to feed the electrical cords
i went to mostly help chris take measurements to build the foundation to the shed.  it took about 30 mins to get it done, we had a quick supper sitting on the wood and back to cutting up the wood.  there is no electricity out there, we have decided to put it in this fall, until then chris is using a compressor and generator.  i think the plan is to use the shed this fall/early winter to have a place to can warm up in and maybe have a few fires out there
some of the big trees that are staying. we would like to keep as many as we can, including maples!
 the wood pile is growing!
and so is the chipper pile
my little piece of heaven in the midst of the woods.  i was able to sneak out and swing for about 5 whole minutes until the girls found me. joey crawled up and swung with me for about 30 seconds. which is a GREAT long time for joey.  ha
chris found a frog and ellie caught it!  chris was showing her how to properly handle it
she carried it with her and wanted to take it home. no way!  after a good 15 mins i told her to put it in the woods and let it go home. ha
 joey only watched. no touching
then chris and i worked.  it is challenging to get things done with 2 little girls running around
 haha
 so much fun!
it took me another 45 mins to get home!  i was so tired. i skipped baths, and just washed the girls up.  it took them another 45 mins to settle down....it felt like a super long day!  chris came home around 9:30 with an ICE CREAM which was the perfect way to end the day!

last night while i was working ellie was standing beside me, i looked down and smiled at her she looked at me and said "mom, you have a beautiful smile. i love you"  it made my night

last night ellie was having a hard time settling down and because i was tired i slipped into bed with her, read her a book and snuggled until chris came home

this morning when she woke up she came to my bed and snuggled she looked at me and said "i had the best night last night. i got to read books with you and snuggle with you"  my heart... 0 comments
