tues

as i said, we did school on tues.  bec un fortch, i fly by the seat of my pants most days...i dont pre read lessons-who hs time for THAT?....i wing it.  these were 2 of last wks science experiments that i though we should do, so i made a list and went out on sun to get the supplies....hahah

first off was a plant in a jar, in the layers of the earth, with a sm glass of water, to put in the sun to show "condensation"  after 10 mins of being in the sun, it clouded over and the sun went away...so i took it inside to try again on another day
BUT the sisters LOVEd it

then we did corn starch and water....making all 3 matters. liquid, solid and gas.  so fun!
 i even played with it
 and joey????
 she had the BEST time

 our plant in "sun"
nate went back to finish his school after lunch
ellie and i read books
joey?
she played with this for an HOUR
 and had the best time
i decided to take it inside and bring it to science day on wed...so. much. fun and worth the 4.00 from costco. ha
 just a random flower pic?
no. not. at. all
sat night, remember 3 days ago? after working at the land? coming home, cleaning the kids in the tub, feeding them, putting away the mess, then putting the girls to bed, making supper for hris and nate, taking a quick shower....my chris came home with this

which means MORE to me than birthday/anni/v-tines flowers.  these were 2 dozen roses that chris picked up for me on his way home sat just bec he loves me

they mean so much to me

thank you chris!

and with that, this blog is done....and yes....i admit to make this blog happened i did invite a friend of the kids over to watch a show while i blog ;)

a mom's gotta do what she's gotta do ;) 0 comments

sat!

late fri night my friend who is out of the country on an amazing 3 wk KIDLESS vacay!!!!...her hubby (who is home this wk and will join her) called me and asked if he can pick nate up sat morning at 8 to spend the day wroth his family then go to a home school teen event.  he knew from his wife, that i couldnt commit to taking nate that night, called and asked to invite nate for the day, then take him to youth.  i was thrilled!  why? bec i had planned on spending the day with chris at the land working and couldnt take nate that night. BUT now he could go!

so chris and i and our girls went to the land on sat to cut boards for our cabin. after about an hr, and i begged for lunch. i dunno, working in the head doesnt make me hungry but now that the heat is gone, im always asking chris to stop to eat!  after lunch i really got into the job and really enjoyed it

it doenst look like much, but each plank of wood was cut individually and then set aside to size

ellie said to me in the afternoon "MOM!  you ca drive the back hoe AND work the saws!"
i said "yes i can and so can YOU!"...in a few yrs
i think its good for them to see me with chris working, i can drive the back hoe, and man the saws....although the table saw does cause me to pause each time i use it in respect!
the girls kept busy ALL day playing
 they were making lunch here...haha
we left around 4:30, to stop at mcdees. NOT bec the girls wanted ice cream but because I wanted fried!  haha

nate came home around 10, happy and tired.  a great day for all of us!  0 comments

mon pt 3 and tues

ellie went to play with her friends and i found this girl in a box!
 twinkle toes
ill keep her!
when i got home, had to mad pan the science lesson that i was teaching on wed. i had NO clue what it was on or about.  after a quick demo and being told your lesson is on a wind mill....and the demo looked NOTHING like any wind mill i ever saw, i spent 30 mins on google and came up with this, some on my own some from science web sites
snapped a pic and asked "am i teaching about "anemometers?"
to find out, yes i was....
then joey came to me like this
so i snapped her pic
kissed her face and told her how much i LOVE her
and spent the night planning my class...
stay tuned
tues morning. i woke up to this
my AMAZING son made the perfect cup of java for me
i sipped it in bed, while i talked to my dad
it was the BEST way to start the day
after spending the night working on science and looking at my planner i realized i was WAY over committed and scheduled and some how "school" was on the lowest point. which is fine. for a season. but my gut was saying that season is coming to an end. so i made some changes and after spending mon night awake with 2 sick kids....i cleared our tuesday!  instead of story time, play date and a trip to the land....we
did...sleep. school. house work, 3 meals, friends. and a late night movie....the perfect day
mon night when chris came home, i was showing him my lesson for wed. when he says "hold on!"
and comes back with this!
a digital anemometer!  the perfect way to intro it to my class!!!!  thank you chris!  LOVE that your shop tool can be used in my class!
tues, the girls spent the day playing....here they were camping

mon pt 2

after zoo camp/mom time. we hit up a new park with a few home school families. we had lunch, the kids played.. nate joined me ;) when not watching after his sisters

then we went to feed the ducks.
so this is my friend amanda. she is the bomb for home school moms. this mom packs a red truck with EVERYTHING you will EVER need. including a 10 kg bag of cracked corn AND a box of zip locks for about 15 kids to go feed random ducks....haha
 some of the kids
the funny part?
there are only 4 moms...and about 5 kids missing
thats a lot of kids!
 we went to the ducks
where i stayed with joey
why?
knowing her, she would try to jump in the pond!
 so. many ducks
 so. many. kids
 ellie's there too
can you see her?
jeoy literally feeding the ducks out of her hand
ellie, joey and joey's bestie ivy
then we hit up tree go
 and did some activities
until i realized it was after 3 and i was SO. FAR. behind on life and we had to go!

mon pt 1

i woke up bright and early (7:30) and came down to this
haha
i LOVE home schooling!
we had breaky, i had some coffee. and we took ellie to zoo camp.  she made this for her teacher
 say WHAT?
she loves zoo camp. and i am so happy with her!  ellie was giving me "trouble" this summer with drop off's, like church and vbs.  so i told her if i sign her up and PAY for hr zoo camps, which are drop offs she HAS to stay.  after 2 weeks in, she LOVES going. no tears. im happy too!
 YEAH!  home school zoo camps!
she took her spot in front of adam ;)
instead of going home, i went to my friends house where i met up with a couple of friends to spend the morning having coffee, laughing and supporting each other while our "non- zoo camp" kids played...

nate joined me and my friends on the couch ;)  he's too young to play with the littles! 0 comments

YUMS!

a few weeks back, chris asked if he could sign up for this "yums" program.  basically, for 20.00 a month you get 1 package in the mail with reg size samples of treats from a certain country, along with a full booklet of information and resources. i thought this would be a fun family project and ok'd his request and out first yum box arrived.

welcome to Thailand!
we got all this, a full booklet with on line resources. we all samples and rated our favorites
this one was surprising my # 2 choice!  my fav was the coconut bars! then this one, and then the mango candy. the pne i thought would be  my fav was a waffle choc bar was surprisingly  disappointing and came in 2nd to last
 we all had fun!
 the captain america arrived... lol
ellie came over with her friend jessie who was dressed up as spider man.  ellie looked at jessie and said "come with me spider-boy" hahahaha
