work day 2!

sat we hit up the cabin to drywall and crack fill (the first round)  we showed nate how to do it...
and i spent the day doing this.  it was AWESOME. im now adding crack fill to my fav things to do!  my goal for the day was to help chris with the drywall and crack fill where ever when ever i can.  after my 3rd coffee ;) i was hooked.

knowing chris was there with me, i totally ignored the girls.  i just zoned out and filled the walls.  about after an hr or so, chris was like "mel!  how can you do this???"

i was like "what?"
he's like "the girls and their CONSTANT asking for you!"
im like, honestly you are here, i ignore them. haha.  we sent the girls to the front porch to play for the rest of the day...not including coffee breaks, snacks/lunch. ha  and i worked in semi quiet
my goal was to fill nates roon, the bathroom, the girls room and the kitchen
i did all that AND the hallway AND front porch
 look at this precision!
 PERFECTION!
i wasnt able to do the top "Y" bec i couldnt reach it
 nates room done!
 bathroom done
 girls room done!
 living room/ kitchen DONE
drywall in the hallway is done
when i left at 5, this is whats left for the drywall

science!

science day was a huge success!  so much so that us mom's who put in on...the ones who put the time, hours, money and effort in...have decided to no longer offer these classes to the home school group but to only put them on for our own kids.  im tried of teaching other kids and parents who dont help out!

anyways, the theme was wind!

before the class started u was sitting and chatting to a friend when joey came running over, she sobbed, sat in my lap and cuddled. totally not like her.  i kept asking her what was wrong and she kept saying "i dont know!" over and over. i told her its ok to just cry at times and not know why :)  everyones does it. haha
amanda starting the class off. we had 6 stations and rotated the groups. we split the kids up by ages
i did the anemometer. which was the hardest one, it took about 20 mins to get through the lesson. i was concerned it was too hard for the kids, but nope.  it turned out to be one of the more successful lessons.
 steph did wind hover craft
amanda did smoke/fog machine to demonstrate throw wind has forces even though you cant see it
 home made smoke machine
 that blew over the cups
i forget this station. haha i believe it was jube jubes taped to sticks on tape to demonstrate wind movement
balloons and wind!  nate ended up helping the younger kids.  he's aging out on most activities
the class was over at 4, and i was not feeling well. i had a horrible sinus cold. nate left at 4 with his friend to hang out then go to youth. i sent him off with 10 for mcdonalds and he came home after 9 with a smile.  its so weird to have a teen in the house who's gone for long stretches of time!  0 comments

hop, skip!

thursday was grace birthday party and a homeschool hop, skip party.  we were there from 12-4. i would have stayed longer but i had to get home to meet chris to drop the kids off then go to my ladies small group....which was really enjoyable.

the kids played
 and jumped
the parents hung out. haha  some of my home school homies
we had cake and sang to gracie
 joey was there too
sonya, my "mom twin" helping joey with her cupcake.  ppl say we look a like. i think its just the hair and body type....funny. she is 5 days older than me!

fri i had so much to do before we left.  i made this game up for the girls. it kept them busy for a long time. i gave them paper and paint, then wrote out 6 different items on a folded pc of paper for them to open one at a time to make a picture.  ellie would open the card and read it
on the papers i wrote grass, tree, house, sun, birds, sky, flowers etc...so at the end they painted a final picture....they loved it and i was able to pack in silence! 0 comments
