science day was a huge success! so much so that us mom's who put in on...the ones who put the time, hours, money and effort in...have decided to no longer offer these classes to the home school group but to only put them on for our own kids. im tried of teaching other kids and parents who dont help out!
anyways, the theme was wind!
before the class started u was sitting and chatting to a friend when joey came running over, she sobbed, sat in my lap and cuddled. totally not like her. i kept asking her what was wrong and she kept saying "i dont know!" over and over. i told her its ok to just cry at times and not know why :) everyones does it. haha
amanda starting the class off. we had 6 stations and rotated the groups. we split the kids up by ages
i did the anemometer. which was the hardest one, it took about 20 mins to get through the lesson. i was concerned it was too hard for the kids, but nope. it turned out to be one of the more successful lessons.
steph did wind hover craft
amanda did smoke/fog machine to demonstrate throw wind has forces even though you cant see it
home made smoke machine
that blew over the cups
i forget this station. haha i believe it was jube jubes taped to sticks on tape to demonstrate wind movement
balloons and wind! nate ended up helping the younger kids. he's aging out on most activities
the class was over at 4, and i was not feeling well. i had a horrible sinus cold. nate left at 4 with his friend to hang out then go to youth. i sent him off with 10 for mcdonalds and he came home after 9 with a smile. its so weird to have a teen in the house who's gone for long stretches of time!
