the start of the deck addition
me. i impressed chris with my strength (all nails were hammered by hand) my durability (it was flipping HOT and i didn't quit) and my over all charm. ha
the final nail!
nate joined us and helped
is it sad that we didn't have to show him how to do it, we just gave him "his" hammer and voila
like father like son like grandvati
he was very busy with the hammering
the original plan was to take the stairs from the left side and put them where the screen door is but add more stairs to the sides making them semi octagon...but after much thought, we think it's too much...and we got lazy...so we will keep the stairs where they are, wait a year and move them next year if we want to
all in all it was a busy, successful, long weekend
the sad and sick part is this. i was the one who wanted to stay home and work. not chris. wow, i have changed!
nate funny- as we were finishing up the deck, nate found the pile of scrap wood. he got busy and built this tall wooden structure. chris went to put the wood away and nate said
"NO! STOP DADDY!!!"
we asked him why?
his reply "that's the CROSS OF JESUS" yes, he was building the cross of jesus. ha.
