why?
i wanted a 'fun' project for chris and i to work on together (it was not fun for him)
i wanted to learn how to use some more tools
i wanted to start a bigger project and finish it!
i wanted to take garbage and turn it into something cool
the rules were simple
1-it would not cost us a penny. we had to use what we have on hand!
2- we could NOT buy anything!!! this was the HARDEST part! if i had a dollar for every time we said
"this would look good with new hardware"
"man i wish i had more wood"
"we should go buy more paint in different colors"
and finally
"this would look SO much better if we just made a new one from scratch!"
and yes, a lot went wrong!
took the top off and I cut a hole for the sink, the bowl came from my kitchen
putting a new back on it
nate worked on his own project
added a divider and shelf's. please note the crookedness! i did it! ha. i measured PERFECTLY i just ummm flipped it over the wrong way and stapled it wrong. we took it a part and re did it :)
spray paint. we had to use what we had. what we had was 2 OLD cans of white that was awful! it SUCKED, barley covered. but oh well!
i repainted the handles, the tap is an old pipe (which i found digging in the scrap box) and i painted on the stove thingy's because when i went to cut the wood with the band saw the blade was dull so i had to paint them on instead of using wood. remember the rule! no buying ANYTHING!
over all i am happy with it and yes chris it would have been so much nicer, better, bigger, more wicked if we just made one. from scratch. but that was not the point was it?
haha
i am surprised by my liking this while making things myself thing. it's funny how much you can learn when pushed (thanks chris)
on another note
guess who threw up 4 times from 12-7 this morning? guess who didn't sleep last night? guess who is washing bedding, sheets, pj's, floors, bathrooms while sleep deprived? nate was sick last night/this morning. my baby! the extra work is totally worth it!
this is the day the lord has made!
