the addition!

chris has been busting his butt the last month on building the addition. we are SOOO grateful for shawn's help with the roof tresses/gables!  the framing is almost done!  shawn took the first picture from the top of the addition.

the addition is going to be connected to the cabin, it will have the kitchen, bath/laundry/woodstove small seating area/dining room. the top floor will be chris and my room.  its got everything weve dreamed of...ha. and yes, i will have a coffee machine/small fridge in the room. haha

off to the left of the addition is the mud room and behind that will be the guestroom.
the garage will be connected to the mud room...and large enough for me to open my car door with out hitting the wall!  that was such a pain in the butt in moncton!
its slowly coming together!

i wasnt sure what to expect with us living in a smaller space with 1 bathroom. we are use to spreading out and having space.  its going so much better than i thought!  the girls seem to be getting along much better and nate is happy with his room...

the plan with the cabin (once we've finished building) is to take the kitchen out (we can only have 1 for insurance reasons) and use that as a hang out/play area for the girls. the loft will be nates space, hes getting our room but hes surprised us by telling us he wants to keep his room where its at. so if that happens ellie will get our room and the loft will be another spot to hang out/watch tv.  the porch will be my library!  cant wait! and the school room will be over the garage which will be separated from the house. im thinking that room can also be used as a space to do homeschool activities/classes etc...

i absolutely LOVE living out here. sure its a 20 min drive to town and its a pain to drive nate to work...im learning to time trips with events/appointments etc..and its a small season. nate will be driving in a yr...i dont miss the moncton house. at. all!  soooo glad we sold and moved!

chris hopes to be in the house by christmas but i told him thats a bit too much. im not in a rush and if it takes a yr or 2 thats fine.  living small is nice!

but it was really funny to open nates bedroom door yesterday and find 8 kids hanging out in there...his room isnt that big!

and thats a quick house update!
