grapes and ice cream

kinda sorta
take the pain away
i was "off" this morning. not sure what the real problem was...and practicing my new skill of trying to figure it out...i did just that...i left the house, alone, went shopping (heehee) and gave myself time to think, ponder and pray
sitting at the lights at trinity. i felt tears coming, falling and rolling
still not sure why
it hit me, i saw the picture. my hand went to my mouth and i sobbed all the way to store
i saw myself, 1 year ago today. i wore a skirt, tank top and flip flops. i had spent the morning garage sailing or as i like to call it "saleing" with a friend. i came home for lunch. i decided to pee on a stick to rule that out, then go to the dr to get checked out. i tossed the not first morning pee, didn't tell chris, pee stick on the counter. went down stairs to eat. then put nate to nap, went into the bathroom and saw 2 lines
in horror that i did not tell chris i took one (bec i was positive there was no chance) shock that i see 2 lines, excitement at WHAT!!!!!! i ran down stairs to show chris
i said " do you see what i think i see?????"
he said "is this for real?" followed with "can this be true???" with a little "how in the world???" (no worries, i showed him how it could happen to clear that right on up!)
then he said to go buy a real test (i used a $ store one) so off i went to walmart, spent 15 bucks on it. took it and it came back negative
hitting my stock pile i took another test and it showed 2 lines!
then i repeated this for 7 days
they ALL were +'s (yeah for cheapo's)
1 year ago today, i discovered that i was pregnant
man, this whole year of firsts suck! remembering is painful...just a few more to get through
after spending 30 bucks on grapes and ice cream i am eating the pain away
today i allow myself to cry, no guilt. just getting it all on out

cribless

this was a huge step for me. i put it off as long as i could. i choose to deal with the issues surrounding this big step...i dealt and dealt and dealt

a few weeks ago chris casually threw out "we should change nate's bed over this weekend"
i stuttered. got silent. then said "no, not yet"
chris gave my shoulder a squeeze and said "no rush"

yesterday, during breakfast i said "tonight we take nate's bed a part"
chris said "sure"

there are reasons why i did it so late a few were

-i was told by friends with older kids (boys) who i go to for advise, to wait until there are 3. most say that it's easier, why rush it, wait until they understand and why fix something that's not broken?

nate is an amazing sleeper (thanks sleep training!)

but the real, deep down truth was pure selfish reasons on my half

that crib was never bought with the intention to use as a bed for nate. it would crib all our babies. nate would move from crib to his super duper cool big boy bed (that we made plans for) then the crib would be taken into the spare room upstairs for benny boy to use

that didn't happen

i was not ready

i waited

i am ready now

i have accepted where i am at today

my house is once again cribless

no baby(ies)
no ben

it's ok!
i am good!

sure i cry. some more days more than others. i am glad that i waited and worked on the pain and hurt. why? because in stead of last night being sad....it was FUN! it was exciting! it was so cool to see my big boy in his big boy bed!!!!

you changed my sorrow into dancing
you took away my clothes of sadness
and clothed me in happiness
i will sing to you and not be silent
lord, my god. i will praise you forever

the duke and change

i read nate the story of cinderella

a few days later he found me and said "mommy, i am the duke" i was like that what? nate does not say anything with out a reason. so i sat and pondered. then it hit me! he remembered the duke from the story, days ago! while playing found his mr potato head glasses, put them on and claimed that he was the duke! smart kid

then he found my garbage basket, put it on his head and told me was the "catcher" for baseball. get it. my dad told him about baseball and he remembered that the catcher wears a mask...i think he's harvard bound!

sniff. sniff. big changes are coming....nate helped chris move his crib into a toddler bed last night

then read a book!

could i get a more perfect picture of dad? bawahhh
nate announced " i am a puppy. i need a timbit" hu???ok then!
adorableness at it's finest!
i am totally loving this whole parental visit....i am taking my liberties, enjoying some freedom....chris and i went on a date tonight. the food was AMAZING. we went to cafe Archibald, i haven't been there since i was preggers with nate! anyways, we went to the one in dieppe, for you local's. i had the chicken pizza/crepe with the most amazing green salad, chris had some fancy-dancy-stinky crepe and some creamy, onion, garlic soup. delish! so good! we will be back....like this weekend! how we enjoyed our QUIET convo! thanks parents for babysitting! wheeee!

my little nate. my little gift. how you are loved. how welcome, wanted, longed for and believed for you are. every bit of you is special. created with greatness for great things. better than you can even begin to dream of

so it's your birthday, a day of cake, gifts and general spoildness...what is it that i want you to have this day? what gift can i give you? i can buy you toys, treats, candy and can clothes. but the one thing i want you to have can not be bought with money. it can how ever be bought with time, patience, love and discipline. my gift to you this day is this. to grow deeper in my own faith, to be more patient with you, to listen to that still voice in my heart, to allow god to speak to me clear, to train you up the way you need to go. to help you discover, nurture and watch you grow in your own faith...so you one day will teach, train and nurture your own kids

you are a gift given to me, just for a short while...what a responsibility!

what a weekend!

sat night we babysat for our friends, so they could have a date. they have 3 kids, so it was a lot louder than what we are use to. hah!

i love the above pic, igot the clouds and nate skipping over the sprinklers
the 3 boys playing, while i watched from the porch with the wee girl...she had a cast on her leg (she pulled a nate ha and broke her leg last week) so she wasn't able to partake with the water splashing
this morning. we had a few extra minutes so i taught nate how to tie his shoes and he almost got it, now he needs to practice!
i asked nate to smile. yep. cute kid
us 2 and his cool shoes!
what a weekend! insane! fum and very filled! i am spending my evening cleaning up from it and going to bed! i am wiped out!
charlie update-this is going to sound so sad. she is out from the hospital, she was released this afternoon....and that is all i know....! i want to respect my sister's exhaustion, mentally, physically and emotionally...so i let her rest today and will get a full and compete update tomorrow. after they all get some sleep! i am just pleased beyond happy that she is safe, well and home in her own little bed!
i must get back to the house work!
