sunday is my facial day. i dont wear make up, except for sundays or special outings. anyways. last sun while i was mud masking chris thought it would be amazing to post a pic of my home spa....he got some back lash. i have NO shame and totally will post on my blog. ha

i went to put away the girls laundry....laundry, oh laundry...when do you end? NEVER she says with a roaring laugh!...haha anyways, back to laundry putting away, i opened joeys drawer and found this! she tucked away her stuffies in her socks, with her folded blanket and monkey...

then i opened ellies drawer! TOO cute!

mon ellie had a late date night with jessy. i picked him up at day care to have supper and spend the evening with us....im like jessy dude, i love you but you are sitting way too close to MY ellie! ha!

tues,i had my dentist appointment...i took this pic totally stoned on ativan. i have no memory of taking it. hahaha...good ol ativan!

cabin!

i had had enough with life last week. i NEEDED a breather. so with nate not having cadets on thurs nights for the next few wks, i packed the car up and we went to the cabin on wed! why? bec we CAN! it was SOOOOOO nice to get away. i went for a few walks in the woods....checking my bird feeders, that are GONE! and leaving food out for my critters

thurs morning i brewed my java and went outside to drink it. i cant get over how QUIET it is at the cabin. i LOVE it!

thurs we did school. i brought some books, the girls and i finished up their science chapter, we read and just chilled. i found joey like this. on her own...she saw the sink full of dishes and washed them ALL. and did a GREAT job!

you go girl!

the kids spent a lot of time outside playing. while i cracked open a book and read. the first book ive started since last yr!

thank you chris for making the hill for the kids!

friday! FUN day! i told the kids NO school today! no book school that is....i planned a few activities and projects to work on...nate even joined us. we made name prints and for some weird reason i didnt take the finished pic...i will when i go back to the cabin tonight...

v-day!

so i LOATH valentines day. for SO many reasons. the pressure it puts on ppl, the emptiness of it all. blah, blah. i dont celebrate it, and i dont want chris to do ANYTHING for me on feb 14...i WANT him to love me every day! not just 1!

anyways, now that the kids are older, i thought it would be good to start some family valentine day fun. so i cooked a special meal, and waited for daddy to get home...he came home with a KEG bag! i knew right away what he got me. my most, ever, favorite thing to eat. bacon wrapped scallops with the special keg wrap. these bad boys are stoopid $....but he got them for me! and 4 bottles of wine. hahah....so chris and i sat down to enjoy my treat...and start our first annual family v-day fun-day!

we made envelopes and put our names on them.. then i gave the kids a bunch of red hearts to write out WHY we love each other. each person got a card from each family member.

then we opened and read them out loud

we laughed, and giggled, wiped eyes and loved

we decided that each kid can choose what THEY want to do with their 5.00. nate is saving his, e and j want to spent it at the $store...im going to take them today to spend it....i already know that joey will buy a stuffie, ellie will want candy and a stuffie. haha....ill blog more on that ha

sat. sat. beautiful and WONDERFUL saturday! i had the BEST, MUCH needed day away. i slept till 11!!!!!! then grabbed a shower and headed into town to grab some supplies, text, email and be ALONE! FREEDOM! so much fun! the only thing that would have made it better was having my bff with me!

we got up sun and headed to church, then to the house for a few hrs so i could get some things done and chris too....hence the blog....but we are leaving in a bit to go back to the cabin for another night!

The post with no pics!

For the first time in a long time this is a post with. No pics! Just a story that I fell upon today that made me want to write it out

Back story. I took the kids to the cabin last wed for some much needed time away and rest. Today I ventured into Moncton to grab some food and time alone. My first stop was to Tim’s!

While in line the older man in front of me chatted to me and everyone else he saw. After I got my coffee. I sat down and this man sat at the table beside me. He asked if he could leave his food to wash his hand. I said sure!

I was nose deep into my iPad when he returned. Ha. I was away for a few days in my in box was full and I was slowly going through them. I felt that he wanted to chat but to be honest. I wasn’t in the chatty mood. Shocking I know. But having just spent the last 3 days with the kids in a cabin. I was talked out. I wanted silence!

As I typed away, a family passed by and went to sit at the wall table. This older men spoke up and offered them his table. They seemed to be put out by the offer but sat with him anyways.

At this point I grabbed the paper so I could watch this scene unfold in front of me.

The old man asked the standard questions. Where are you from? What’s your name? What do you do for a living? I was quick to find out they were all from away. The man and daughter from marimichi, the man from Bathurst and the lady from outside Moncton. That’s right. The lady who I thought was with the man and his daughter was a stranger who happen to be behind them!

4 strangers sat at the table to have lunch. After the first 5 mins the conversation flowed. And I sat in wonder. And realized this

People are lonely. This man just wanted someone to talk to. This man and his daughter sat with the lady who was behind him in line and this old man. Soon they were laughing and sharing stories

As I finished up my coffee the old man saw something around the mans neck. A dog tag of sorts. The conversation took an interesting twist. The man served in Afghanistan. He lost his best friend. The lady spoke up. She lost her son in Afghanistan. The old man spoke up. He was a vet. He served over seas until he retired. He shared a story of how he lost his friend in an attack. The daughter sat there and listened.

3 adult random strangers sharing lunch in a random Tim’s on a random cold feb Saturday in Moncton. All 3 with war stories

At this point I felt it was time to leave. I packed up and left. I left these people to bond with privacy.

I sat in my car and wondered how many more ppl I would see and talk to today are lonely. How many of us have stories in common. But. how many of us will find out if someone doesn’t speak up and start a conversation.

Go and start a conversation. You never know what you will find out. 2 comments

burn and snow!

so...for the last 10 yr, i go get an annual cheek up with my dr. usually in the fall...this yr i went and i got a call to come see my dr. i LOVE my family dr, he's the BEST. and every yr my blood work is spot on perfect...until now....so i was sent back for more blood test, and the results came back not in my favour, so i was sent back for more blood, wor and this time i took ellie with me as her school work...we did the blood tests and i failed again...the tests are showing that i might have an over active thyroid...which i think is perfect for me....not underactive...but over active....so after i failed the lat 4 tests i was sent for a scan and an mri....which went well...

then 3 days later i got his on my neck! a radiation BURN. i immediately covered it with vita merfern and after 5 days it was gone...i have a few more tests to take then ill know whats going on...
