i was packing up the tulips i got for misty for our am visit and nate was (like usual) full of questions. i explained that it's nice to bring a gift when you visit a friend at the hospital.
nate was quiet and then he said "but mom, i don't have anything to give!"
i told him that was ok, that we can bring the tulips together
i went back to packing the tulips up and about 10 mins later nate came over with his treasure box. it's a wooden box that i bought him a few wks ago, he wanted it SO bad so after he earned it i got it and he spent the morning painting it. it's been in his play tent or beside his bed since and always full of his "special treasures" which have been so far, tooth pics, candy, paper, stickers, rocks, marbles and cars :)
nate said "mom, i want to give my treasure box to misty and her babies. lets put some special treats in it for her"
i explained that once he gives it away (or anything) it's gone, you can't take a gift back. he said "that's ok. maybe another day i can earn another box and we can paint a new one"
i asked him if he was ok with this
he then said "god gave me lots of things so i can give to other people. it's called sharing and blessing"
sob, sob, sob he's growing up so fast!
yesterday's treasure hunt
yesterday's treasure hunt
i saw this great idea from some web site a while back, and yesterday was the perfect day to do it. i took an empty egg box and printed out pictures of things that you would find at a park, i taped the pics to the top and sent nate out to fill his box with anything he wanted

I see so much of Chris in Nate's expressions! So cool.
It was very kind of Nate to want to give his special treasure box to Misty, Myah and Mason! Did he end up sticking with the idea of giving it away, or did he decide to share just his treats? :) He's a cutie!
You're a great Mom!
he gave it away! i was suprised! he also took a package (there was 2) of nibs home with him and asked to have a chocolate :) hey! can't blame the kid! ha
ha! Can't blame him at all. Perhaps he's also learned the principle of reaping what you sow! lol! :) Good job, Nate!
I'm so proud of Nate!! Obviously he's really starting to understand the joys of sharing. We are so looking forward to seeing you in the summer. Katie's been getting better at sharing too, so the two of them should have a lot of fun playing together. I'm sure 1/2 year + will make a huge difference.
How thoughtful he is! He`ll make a great husband for Arielle. I`m so happy they`re going to get married! lol
What a great story and great park idea :)
What a good boy you have! You and Chris are doing a lot of right things - I don't say "everything" since we are all human....but you guys must be pretty close :)
That is so cute, and i am glad to see that he has a nice little girl lined up to marry. It is not a nice thing to hear him and Quinn fighting over who gets to marry Charlotte. It is not fun to explain to them why this is not going to happen.
That last post was Cry, Chris forgot to log out...
