it's all fun and games: party day!

it was 7:30 am and we hit the pool. this was my morning view, check the steam coming off the pool

party day! the boys had been praying that papa and nana would join us. actually, they believed that they were coming cause "i prayed and god always answers prayer"

we got the phone call the sat after we left that papa and nana were coming! they were flying in on wed and we choose (to save our sanity) to not tell the boys and surprise them

quinn is a party kid. he's like me. he loves to plan and throw parties

back story

one night us adults were in the hot tub and nate woke up to pee. he saw the lights on and came outside and caught us in the hot tub. we had been in there for awhile so there was the empty cheese cake box, chip bags, chocolate bar wrappers and can of beverages left around the hot tub

nate came in and saw that we were having a party. we let him stay for a bit then sent him back to this room

we stayed in the tub quite late that night and left our garbage out there

so the next morning. nate told quinn that we had a party. with OUT him. quinn came down and was VERY upset that we threw a party WITH out him. ha. quinn then picked up our mess

so i told quinn he can throw a party and off we all went to the dollar store for quinn to pick out his supplies. he picked them all out himself

we decided to use this as the surprise party for nana and papa coming

but we told quinn it was his party

so wed morning quinn and i decorated the pool area for his party. we told him that we would have the party after charlie's nap

shawn was at the airport picking mom and dad up

party perfect. quinn set the table up by himself

i then got the boys to the pool area and snapped a quick, blurry shot of dad coming in the door. dad was wearing the hand prints of the kids around his neck. it was in a card i mailed off the night before we left. it meant a lot to see them on dad. a real answer to prayer

we had the boys turn around and told them that it was not a party for them and instead it was really a surprise party!

then we had them turn around and there was mom and dad

the boys were stunned

"nana? papa?"

then it was time for hugs

quinn was thrilled to have a party for nan and papa

i need to start a business with this kid. ha

1/2 way though the trip dad joined us. and to all family who is reading this, dad RELAXED, he did not lift anything, we took great care of him and he ate healthy. some viewed him coming as foolish. but to the kids it was god just answering another pray. no biggie
