rain and zoo!

a rainy day was had for zoo camp. but that didnt stop the fun!  the girls loved being outside at the zoo with umbrellas. only 1 came back broken beyond repair. ha
off they go
the rain stopped and the sun came out.  i got all the bikes in the van and we drove to the park to have a bike ride...as soon as we pulled in the clouds came and it POURED. no bike ride was had that day
all ready to go!
nope! not anymore!
we were able to go the next day!

im sorry. this is just too funny to not post!
while making supper i looked over and found this.  joey was playing a good 30 mins. with 2 oranges and her doll house
i love the creative, silly play!
we got a HUGE box!
boo!  joey went to hide in hte box hoping i would forget about her school...it didnt happen. i remembered. ha
night time daddy snuggles
im trying to talk joey into letting me cut her bangs. i think she would look so cute. so far she says "NO!"
so chris gave ellie a needle to play with! like a real syringe.  i came down to find her clinic all set up and patients ready. she was injecting them with water. haha
dont worry all stuffies are healthy! and well taken care of!  and this clinic kept them busy playing for a few days. they even made charts and payment plans! ha
i FINALLY, after 13 years of wanting one! i got my back splash!  our friend rick came and installed it for us!  he did the bathrooms as well. i love it!

it really brightened up the kitchen!  the men worked away
and with the warm weather...the kids come....for some reason i had a really hard time adjusting to the kids.  there are more this yr than before. a few families moved in over the winter and some how the kids end up in my back yard.

i think im finding it harder this year because our school day is a lot longer.  we finish around 3, which is the time the kids come home.  so from 3-till i kick them out, most nights at 8:30, i have a nonstop influx of kids.

its normal for me to come home and open the back door to find 3-5 kids in my back yard or on the trampoline.

so its been an adjustment for me to lose some time alone to adding more noise to the house!  im thankful for the cabin come friday!

this yr they created a hunger game. its like zombies/video games/hunger games all in 1. the boys built on to the club house, i forgot to take a pic of it. the kids set a time and all show up.  one day there was over 14 kids playing...it gets loud but im learning to change my attitude and welcome them. im around to watch and keep an ear out. i wonder how crazy this summer will be?

the girls giving the pigs a bath. not that they needed it, they wanted to play with them!
sun night after a LONG weekend we started the netflix series in color with the kids.  it was a GREAT way to end the busy weekend!
my crew
2 very tired, played out kids!
they were so tired!
and im now spending free time with ellie watching....dog training videos!  our puppy was born last saturday!  the mom had 6 pups. 3 boys and 3 girls. they are all tri colored!  and we get first pick!  we are planning a visit when they are 4-5 wks old to pick our puppy...which will soon turn into a mini pony!...can't wait!
joey is the funnest girl! each day she picks out her outfits.  and has me do her hair. i love that she dresses how she likes and doesnt care what you think!
some times we do school in my bed...more often lately....
joey made me this box, it took her an hr or so. then wrote me a note. it made me cry.  good tears!
making more crafts!
we do our morning time reading in my bed. i love this.  so much!  the girls are at a fun age.  i am so glad i made time to fit this into the school day.  reading out loud has really changed our day.  joey usually draws while i read and ellie snuggles down.  this week we are reading winn dixie.  when we are done we are going to watch the movie...we also finished the book on fables. its a good way for us to be together and start the day off
joey outfit. i mean come on! she picked it out herself!
its a dress with a matching jacket!

We loved all loved the Christian Heros: Then and Now series. Great missionary bibliographies written with a younger audience in mind.
