last wkend we pulled another work wkend. i spent fri stacking, lugging and building boards. it is rather cool to watch the process of chris cutting down a tree, use his lumbermill on the tree and turn into cute, sticky, and rather heavy boards for me to build concrete forms with!
i am so proud to say, with the help of nate, to declare that I BUILT ALL THESE wooden boards! most of them i even cut to size! who would have thought that the gal who married this swiss guy 18 yrs ago this wkend! would be in the woods! cutting, lugging and building a forever home with the same swiss guy! ive come a long way!
so the house will be build on a concrete slab, no basement. the part you see in this pic close to the tractor is the garage, behind the red tractor is chris's shop, the long part is the addition which will have the kitchen, Livingroom, bath and the upper level will be the master suite
i was cutting away mid afternoon and looked over to this.
awe! i think he's tired!
we came to visit.
this is joey trying so hard to be "sad and tired" haha ellie nailed it, chris too
all by himself....he JUST wants to be all by himself!
as the boards went up chris worked on the Styrofoam
looks at those well BUILT boards and i made 1/2 of the braces as well
the layout of the house.
