almost there..which was insane for those locals yesterday was super duper, redic windy, rainy and icky out. it was nuts to be on a ladder!
so chris got a job to fix up the outside of this building yesterday, i was to hold the ladder until the clouds opened and the rain fell and the winds got redic! it took a 240lb man to hold the ladder bec the wind was that strong! anyways, i went along to help, i cut the siding got the tools and made sure nate was up to do good...
i found him in the van. looking innocent until i turned my back and found
i was horrified (which if funny cause i let my kid use a knife) to find the keys in the ignition! CHRIS! i took them out and let him play
i love that chris lets nothing stop him and that he can do anything which he can. but sometimes it does freak me out a bit
nate and the knife-
i am only posting this to clear something up. i have had some concerns about the pic of nate and the knife.
he is only allowed to use it when i am there supervising him! i am NOT irresponsible for allowing him to use a knife or advertising irresponsibility by posting that pic. every parent must choose for themselves what is right or wrong for their family, every child is different...please let's not judge each other but learn from each other. if you have a real concern feel free to contact me with love :) by email or call me!
one more word. i have never, or will never use my blog to deliberately say something to hurt someone. i will never post a shady blog, hint at something or talk trash about anyone
when i post, esp spiritual or biblical stuff (verses, songs or what not) i am ALWAYS talking about ME or my family. never, ever, ever anyone else. i will not use this blog to bash, hurt or destroy anyone
just gotta clear the air here!

Melanie I love your blog. you writ so from the heart. And is it not that what we lost and so also lost the encouragement , correcting , helping each other in life? I think it is good to teach a child when it is young. My experience is, that there is a time in a childs life when it is eager to learn and when we let it do it in that time it is fun to learn and to practiceing and learn the skils also. Learning household duties so is fun and gives the child a positive experience of acomplish a good thing. What a investment in the self esteme! Looking a few years in the future, do you think a teenager wo never was aloud to "practice" will then sudently enjoy to walk around in th house with a vaumcleaner or fill the washer or dryer?. So form and mold your child when it is willing and you can have fun together. I am sad for the moms who have to work autside or choose to do so and let all this wonderfull moments of developement of there child in a daycare place. And how "save ' can the spracticing of life be with 4,5, 8, 3 and 4 year old? So big bravo, gratulation for all the "only" moms out there. That is investment in the next generation ! God bless you! A Grandmother

Hey Mel
I think it's great that you let Nate do so much in the kitchen. My girls love to help bake (but that means mostly doing quality control on the chocolate chips and licking the beaters;) I've asked Katie a couple of times if she wants to try the knife with me, but she wasn't interested. I think the fact that you can give Nate full attention also helps. If there are more than one small child around, it can be more tricky.
We're looking forward to seeing you and let the kids play.
Hope you have a fantastic Mothers' Day
awww thanks you guys!
