answered prayer!
so, back in the spring, when the kids swarmed our back yard most of the kids are girls. the back of our house facing the street behind us only has girls from2-8 who live there. that is a lot of girls! poor nate ha at times i did feel bad for him, because he is a boy and he plays like a boy! the girls don't like that much but the problem is finding the balance between using our back yard and respecting how nate plays as a boy (think kick boxing ninja, super soak-er guns, wresting and super heros) and how the girls play and learning to be nice to each other and accepting the differences....anyways! nate would often come in from his own back yard because the girls were being mean to him (his words) i felt bad for him as kid to be the bigger person and let them use his back yard while he did something different...
i told him i was going to specifically pray that a boy moves in the neighbourhood. i did, not on a reg base but when it came to mind i did pray specifically for a boy age 7-9 who lived on the other side of the house (front side) and that they have personalities that jive and get a long and guess what?
last month he met a boy aged 8 who lives 10 houses down, who he plays AWESOMELY with! they are buds who play together each day, and there is no fighting, they get along so well. they both play and like the same things! so awesome!
guess what?? another boy aged 8 moved in across the street 3 houses down, they met yesterday and all 3 of the boys got along really well!
how great is this! god does answer prayers!
p.s nate is now praying that more boys will move in that also have super soaker water guns so they can hunt down and get the girls....hahaha

Boys and girls, eh?? So different. And i think if a family only has girls the difference is even greater. Often when I babysit boys, or have friends with boys over I can see it so clearly. Even with my rough-housing, mud-loving, insect-"exploring" girls...boys are different.
I'm so happy for Nate that he found some buddies to play with!
yep! boys are SO different. im blown away by it. i love watching ellie and how she is so different. she plays! alone! by herself! nate never did!!! so glad i had my boy first and i actually like the big age gap.
