for science this semester we are studying botany, i find it fascinating btw. anyways i decided to take on the older kid's projects and one was to build a light hut. so i did. it took me HOURS on sat to find all the stuff for it, esp SEEDS! who sells seeds in september? no one!!! but i did eventually find a few packs...
light hut, box with tin foiled all over it and holes cut out
i went local on the kids yesterday after a frustrating morning of juggling, well, everything, i sent them outside and told them both to no move until i came back....15 mins later....and found them both like this. good job kids!
we planted the seeds
ellie's job was to stand there and yell "go YAYA!! GO!" as in good job yaya!
then i moved them into their new home for the next 2-4 weeks...we are growing 2 herbs and some peppers
during ellies nap time (jo is usually awake so school is a juggling act) nate did some investigation on vascular plants vs non vascular
and journal ed his findings and observations, he noted moss is non vascular because they absorbed water unlike leaves. good job buddy....im hoping we can get through most of the book before snow falls....cough.....then we are out of leaves to study...ha!
school is a daily juggle. nates been excellent through the adjustment process. he came up with his own reward system if he goes with the flow and works with a good attitude, which is hard with constant interruptions, and i mean constant. he gets 30 mins of his fav video game. works for me! its the only screen time get gets!
