splash pads and play dates

 last week was spent having play dates.  i swear, i spent so much time planning, booking and driving kids around. ha.  i was on my way home when we heard this huge BANG. and BOOM.  my muffler fell of my car, at a traffic light!  i pulled over into a parking lot and called chris to the rescue! and he came...and had my car fixed the next d day.  SO blessed to have a handy hubby!

the following day we went to the first splash pad of the yr.  we had 3 days of o rain last week and spent them all outside.  my friend got a part time job so i took her kids while she worked.  they had SO much fun.  we were there for 3.5 HRS!

 what i enjoy best each spring and summer is to watch the kids and see how far they have come.  from training wheels to 2, sliding with no fear to mastering the spinning wheel.  i cant get over how much they have each grown!

 chris was home sick, so i left nate and his friend at the house. they are too big for the splash pad (according to them) ha

so i came home with 3 hungry kids, then nates friend and our neighbour.  i quickly threw supper together and all 6 kids ate EVERY piece of food on the table! hahaha

around 6:30 joey came and told me she didnt want to go to but BUT she did want to take a little nap. bawahhh

i put her to bed and sent the kids home. it was a busy but fun day! 0 comments

date night!

 last thurs chris and i went on our first ever NO paid babysitter date!  i put joey to bed and left nate in charge of ellie. really, by his age i had been babysitting for a yr.  we hit up our fav 1/2 spot. this time we had fried cauliflower. oh my WORD. this was AMAZING.  i almost licked it clean. haha  and nachos!

SO fun to be able to go out!  we are getting closer to FREEDOM! ha

 fri i packed up the car to the roof. literally, and we went to the cabin for a few days.  fri night chris surprised the girls with mail.  joey was suppose to keep her eyes shut. haha

 sat i took myself into town.  it was raining and yucky, so no garage sales but i did stop and have a coffee and donut ALONE. it was awesome!  i came home in the afternoon, it was nice to just be by myself

 i looked over and watched joey playing....i asked her what it was and she said "with my computer"

 see.  ha love the creativity!

hair cuts!

 mon we hit up our last no school kid park for the summer. school is out in n.b so now we have to learn to share the parks. haha

we went back to the cabin to cut the girls hair.  joey before

 so proud to get her hair cut.  this is 5 YRS of hair growth. poor thing has my fine, thin hair :(

books, pool and the last week

 ive spent a lot of time reading this past weekend.  i finished off these 3.  ghost boy is a bio of a man who was stuck in his body as a child, it took his nurse 10 yrs to discover that he was NOT brain dead, but aware and awake.  its a story of all that happened to him while everyone thought he was in a vegetative state.  the things ppl said and did when they thought no one was looking.  its a GREAT read

everybody has everything was about a couple who willed their only child to a childless couple, the father died, the mother in the hospital in a coma while the couple takes custody of the kid.  the lady discovers that she did NOT want to be a mom and left....it was a bit harder to get through than others ive read

 and this!!!  STUPID good.  im just about finished and am going to borrow the next 3 books from the same author from a friend

i find keeping the cabin clean and the kids fed silly easy and i have time to "spare" so i READ!  love it. im seriously considering down sizing.....

 tues we came back home to a HOT sunny day.  i am SO proud of myself.  i had the kids help me and i set up this bad boy!  nate and his friends wanted to quit so many times but i told them "NO! we are NOT quitting.  we CAN do this" and we did

then our neighbour invited us all to come swim in their big pool.  so we did!

 great job nate and thanks for NOT quitting!

 after swimming the kids wanted the sprinklers, and after messing around with it and calling chris to talk me through it, i was able to get it going! 

 and yes, i collect kids as the day goes on. i start with 3 and end up with at least 7-8. ha

 chris came home with this box.  what was in it???? a pen set and a certificate that joey is holding...the governments way to congratulate chris on 20 yrs and waste packaging, money and postage at the same time!  GREAT job canada! haha

 last night my sis and her crew arrived for supper, and i quickly snuck out with her to spend time together and score some deals along the way!  i picked up a pair of pants, a bathing suit and a pair of shorts. i need new clothes. ive gained weight and not much fits!  which is a GREAT excuse to go shopping. haha

i had SO much fun with my sis. i need more of her in my life. cant you guys just MOVE here!?!?!

and at the last minute they took nate with them to the states on a vacation. so now in nateless.  i miss him already!  id say the house is quieter but the girls have a friend over. so yea, my house is NOT quiet today...
