last sun nate and i went to grab some milk and a few other essentials...we had fun goofing off in the empty store..the toilet paper aisle! empty! ha

but i told nate that this was his last time going to the stores until this sends. when i ran to the stores on fri was shocked my how much things changed in a week....from the masks to empty shelves...this whole virus has left me feeling "yikes!"

our week looked the same....we did school, im surprised by how much we actually get done! we take MANY walks in the woods, or trails, we "skate" on the driveway, eat, read, watch t.v, play on the xbox, paint, color, draw and more painting!

every morning after my coffee i walk the woods alone and feed my critters...im amazed by many squirrels, birds and other critters who visit. i saw about 4 sets of deer tracks too!

ive been wanting to do this art curric with the kids for the longest time but never found time to do it....well now we have time! hahaha its a 7 days art series on |painting creation" nate is joining us too. he puts on quite the show pretending to be "bob ross"

and more painting. i leave the pains out on the table all the time, with art supplies and the kids can pick up and paint when ever they want. its also easy on me...no daily clean up! and im impressed by how much painting gets done!

so the coolest thing happened the other day. i was cleaning up the porch and saw a bright red blog fly by. then i realised it was a wood pecker! it landed on the tree about 5' from the window. i called the ids in and grabbed my "bird book" we quickly identified the wood pecker, watched him peck away and learned all about wood peckers. about 10 mins later it flew away...
then we went to the house for the day...when we came back to the cabin, i went for my walk in the woods and heard the wood pecker! i followed and saw this!!!

he blasted 5 huge holes in the tree before he flew off. i showed chris when we visited on sat...looks like we will have to cut down this tree :(

ellie wanted some "alone tie with mom" on sat, so we went for a walk to the river...not before i slipped on the ice and fell hard! my back will be so bruised!!!
and we are living the life, the dream, all by ourselves at the cabin. ha for the most part its just the kids and i, chris comes on sun and he surprised me tues night showing up with ice cream, fries and pop corn. he stayed the nights and went back to the house to work...
chris is LOVING the social distancing. again, hes at the house for most of it alone. ha im at the cabin with the kids doing our life...other than not seeing our friends and missing activities, our life is the same old same!
my plan is to spend another week at the cabin with the kids and see what life brings us! until next week! stay safe and social isolate!
