books and school!

we finished up the entire series!  gotta say i enjoyed reading them to the girls!
we also read 2 fables a day from this book. they are quite funny and make us laugh
and we finished this baby! when i say we i mean the girls and i. i read out loud and they sit with me
ellie read this on her own and enjoyed it!
one day i caught her like this, eating cereal and looking at her journal when she was suppose to be doing math. ha
joey working away
i found this on marketplace. its a really good story!
we had movie afternoons and biology the last week
i was able to read these 2.  i read behind closed doors in 24 hrs.  it was that good!
the rapture of canaan took me 3 days. it was a harder read for me. but another one i can cross off my list. it was a good book
i started little woman with the girls, not knowing how they would like it. they LOVED it and pulled out all my books. this pic made me pause and reflect. i bought these books in saskatoon. way before we had kids...knowing that one day i wanted kids and to homeschool them....years later here i am.  i let ellie read puppy pals this week as her independent read. i felt she needed a "silly/fun" story....honestly, as long as my kids are reading im happy!
i think they are ready for the original. this is an adaptation but to me the language and vocabulary is very close to the original
the girls added to the "to read" pile!  i made a huge attempt to take a good chuck of our school day for "morning time" we do a verse and i spend 30-45 mins reading to them= i need more coffee. haha but im noticing a difference! so ill keep going
i went looking for ellie for her 1 on 1 school. i found her like this, hiding her math book. hahah
i was BEYOND words at this score!  i have this book in my amazon cart, its been there since jan. but i couldn't heart spending 39.95 on it....i found the 1974 adition at mission thrift for .59!
its the unaltered fairy tales from the original authors!  ive read 4 so far myself and im thinking ill introduce them to the girls next year.  im also wondering if i should take a class in literature. im really intrigued with these books/stories and the history behind them...
these too! 1.50 for both originals!
and with that i must go!  its friday night. chris is enjoying a night at the cabin alone! i can hear nate screaming while paying his games, joey is asleep, and ellie is waiting for me to snuggle.  im thinking to tell nate to be quiet! snuggle with ellie and bust open my newsiest book!  with chris not home, i can read till the early morning hours!  this is the best life!  im so thankful!

wonderful week everyone!
