this am, i had to actually set my alarm and get up before 9! i took the kids to sackville, n.b to the tantramar marsh. its a program they put on for public schools but we were able to get in as a class for free. we joined the public school kids for the first 20 mins. gotta say, the hs kids were def better behaved and knew most all the answers. typical. ha
then we went to the class room to 5 different tables with molds and samples of tracks and scat. the kids had to identify them. ellie filled out her whole page! i was impressed
towards the end of the table work joey got bored and i was able to take her into the back office to looks at/touch different animal hides
it was really neat!
then we did the coolest. they went to the marsh and dug up samples of the water and put it in trays. the kids were given tools to go through the samples and find living insects/worms/ what ever they could find and put it in a sample dish

after the samples were collected they were put in a dish and we were able to watch them from under the microscope. to me that was the best part! so fun
the kids really enjoyed it
