it's all fun and games: May 2019

we are alive!

i am SO far behind in my blogs!!! life has been so busy and full the last few weeks! we are all GOOD and alive! haha

i pulled my pics from my phone and as i old my friend a "if i didnt take pics, i would have NO memory of the last 5 yrs!" ha

so the above pic, i spent the afternoon cleaning, chris was at the cabin, and i put the kids to bed. i remember i came down, tired. and saw this....and burst out laughing. after i cleaned the girls played. i snapped a pic. so fun!

i mark nates work every fri. this just made me giggle and laugh. LOVE this kid. im so proud of him!i get it. i loathe algebra!

and i found this on my phone...cold much? ha

so after a miscommunication our cabin has been booked for the last month. which so far ALL the renters have been AWESOME! the last batch of girls left the cabin CLEANER than we left it AND added a NEW hammock! so im happy again. ha

but i decided to focus on the school room....so 2 wks ago, i tore the room a part. and mean TORE it a part!

its has taken me 2 WEEKS! to clean and organize it! now that im about 6 yrs into home school, i have a minor feeling of where to go with the girls, what books and curric will work with them and what will not. thats another reason why i LOVE home school. i can taper each kid to their OWN learning style. nothing is "better" than the other. its just for them

most of what i have, ill call them the foundational, haha... i have and will use with the girls, the rest? i tossed. i ended up having 2 totes but im going to hold on to them for another yr, then after joey's kinder yr, i can buy a table and sell my books...

yikes! the start! stay tuned. haha

one of the BIG things i ADORE about my girls is their simple love to play! its been such a horrible spring. so. much. rain....its rained the last 5 DAYS!!!!! and its been so cold! so i try to bring out "new' stuff to keep them busy....and its worked!

last sunday was mothers day. i decided to NOT have an attitude about not having the cabin. ha. and came up with a PLAN. i told my family we WERE ALL going to church

why?

sniff....so i could get a flower. haha and pat asked nate to help him pass the flowers out, so i was blessed with my oldest kid picking a flower and giving it to me on our way out the door. the flower is still alive!

after church we went for a MOM'S day! i picked a NEW place to visit, about 40 mins from our house. we drove and hiked....as much as we could because joey forgot her socks and got a blister...so we didnt make it to the falls...next yr! so we carried little joe to the van and hit up cape enrage

moms day pt 2

my girls on the beach.
joey funny. she asked me to pick her up, so i did and i said "joey!!! why are you so HEAVY?"
i put her down and went to investigate....2 FULL pockets of her special rocks. haha

so many childhood memories of sunday afternoons at bowness (sp?) park in calgary

the wind was blowing the waves and i put my hair down, which i never do

nate said i looked so different. i guess i do!

chris and the kids climbed the cliffs. i found a spot on the beach and rested to the sound of waves

seriously, its so nice!

the sun broke out and i watched the tide come in

it came in really fast

making the name "cape enrage" more meaning full!

i got chris and told him we needed to get out soon, the tide is coming in and i dont want to mess with it!

we ate our supper in the van on the drive home. haha i KNEW the kids would be starving so i packed so much food that chris laughed at me....

but

ALL of it was gone by the time we got home!

see how much money we saved by me packing food chris. hahahah

zoo camp

we came home to ellies 2nd last zoo camp
she LOVES zoo camp. and she packs her bag on fri...3 days before each camp to make sure she has everything! its so worth the money!
the last 2 weeks nate has been asleep when its time to leave, so i let him sleep and take the girls...i leave a note for nate and i have my phone on...its safe!

after zoo camp, we all pick ellie up and go for a picnic lunch at a park, then nate goes to his drama class and i take the girls to a play park to meet up with other home schoolers. the last 2 weeks its been SO cold, ive been wearing my winter coat! but joey has a BLAST!

after our busy day, i found ellie like this

i knew exactly what she was doing
the week before i took ellie out to run errands, on that afternoon we came across a busker of sorts. a guy playing drums on random items. ellie was blown away by it. so we stopped and watched....
so when i saw this set up on my driveway i knew what she was doing....she was playing the drums on random items for money (see the green bowl?) just like the guy we saw

but she was sad when no one put money in her bowl like we gave the guy....so i gave her a life lesson....ha and a quarter. ha

school room 7 days later.......cough.....what a mess!

tues night i found this cutie in my bed
i snuggled her and kissed her
cause the ONLY time she is quiet and still is when she is asleep! ha

sky zone!

last tues my friend messaged me and asked "how many home schoolers can we get ASAP?" i was like "what????"
so we did a fast 24 hr promo to get as many kids in SKY ZONE from 12:30-closing for a company lead promo.....less than 24 hrs we had over 75 kids show up. all for FREE!

so we chilled with the kids at SKY ZONE. it was a BLAST! i took my kids for 4.5 HOURS. then we went home for supper and nate was picked up to go back with the home school teens for another 3 hrs!

AWESOME sauce! we LOVE sky zone and i hope we can get a deal with them....other wise we wont be back (no can do 10 and hr x 3 kids)

but the place itself is GREAT! for all age groups and moms!

resting and relaxing

after a LONG day at sky zone, all my kids SLEPT in until 8:30-9!!!!!
i found ellie on the couch and joey making more art

i LOVE that i can keep joey busy making pictures, she is our artist!

last thurs night, my small group was serving at one of the local homeless shelters. i told nate, no i asked nate to join me, after he expressed his resistance to going, i told him he was. i KNEW it would be good for him. and it was.
i was SO proud to have him with me, it was such a great evening for the 2 of us....he saw me outside of being a mom and more important he saw real life. a world he will never know or even understand. but for the grace of god, oh the love of god, he wont live it

it was a great night for us
even though he told me he wont go back....but he will....bawahhhhh with me. i told him i want him to go and serve a supper with me

LOVE this guy. so much.

hali part 1

last fri we headed to hali. the cabin was booked and i was not sulking. haha. so i took the kids to hali, chris stayed home. on sat he installed bathroom flooring for a friend

i just didnt want to spent the long weekend at the house. so we packed up and hit the grandparents and aunty/uncle house

after nate snapped this pic and showed me i asked ellie why she looked so sad and she told me that she was thinking about the time she was locked in our basement. long story short she was fine. but i reminded me how much kids remember.....and joey was out
