yesterday we had our first snow fall. ellie came down and said "mom! NO SNOW!" and i agreed. but it fell anyways....so around 4ish it was warm enough and fluffy to go outside. i dressed ellie up in her pink snow suit and out we went
i wish i could have video'd the whole thing. as a parent there are times you long for the moments of sheer childhood delight at discovering and exploring something new. with nate, he hated the snow and cried the whole time. ha. with ellie i was able to watch her light up as she discovered something new. it was awesome!
she looked out and followed nates tracks (he was off playing with friends)
as she got deeper in the snow she would only say "mom! snow!" and scoop it up
she was amazed by this white, fluffy, crunchy stuff
she scooped it and carried, then dropped it and picked up more while saying "mom! snow!"
she smelt it and put it to her cheeks and discovered it was "cold"
she crunched
then she looked up and realized it was falling from the sky. she said "mom! snow! falling!"
and laughed at this whole concept
she could feel the flakes falling on her face, melting and sliding off
then she tasted it. ha
this went on for 30 mins. she had SO much fun with the snow. it was awesome to witness!
ellie bring life and laughter to our family. she doesn't walk, she skips, dances and sings. so thankful for her
at supper, we were finishing up and nate looked at me and out of the blue he says "mom, you are good at being a mom" and went back to eating
i was blown away by how a simple comment could lift up my tired spirit. he had the right words at the right time!
im starting to feel a bit better, i am on an antibiotic now and i hope it will kick in today!
and with that im off to start my to do list for today! happy snowy saturday everyone!

Oh joy! AS
It's amazing how simple words can lift our spirits!! I have to remind myself that it works the other way too. Words I speak can lift someone else's spirit too.
Thanks for sharing your life like this.
Wishing you a wonderful new week!
My baby girl really loved that snow!
