good morning!!!
we started new today. id say the day was a 9/10
we spend the morning playing, then coloring
ellie colored!!!!
then we did science
nature walk around the property (it was raining)
peach tree with it's bounty!
ellie got hands on
nate collected specimens that peeked his interest
then we came in and looked at each item
we spread them out and he journal his findings
what nate collected
ellie kept busy by playing with school supplies

after nate journaled, i let him cut up what he found. we found seeds and cut those up to find more seeds. seeds in seeds, who knew???
after lunch, i put ellie down and nate and i headed up to the school room
i studied up on grammar and found this in this wicked book i got at costco
it made me giggle....charlie sheen for the example of air quotes
then we did some math review
and then on to spelling while i labeled the drawers for the new year
i also make a label for ellie
fitting no?
what a difference a night sleep can make and a stern talking to. nate also discovered that i use my calm voice 99% of the day when he obeys ;)
i rewarded him with reading time in my bed, snuggled under my duvet. good and bad, home school is awesome for us!

Glad to read that you had a better day! First week is done and I'm sure you'll have lots of great days (with the odd not so great one) ahead of you. With God's help and wisdom you'll make it through each one and I'm sure Nate and Ellie will get exactly what they need - from you and from God.
And by the way that little girl does strike me to be a bit of a monkey:) I have one of them too (Maya).
