it's all fun and games: May 2018

conference 2018

chris and i spent the wkend at conf. its our 4th yr on the board and yipeeeee chris got voted in for another 2....sigh....i LOVE going to conf, its just so tiring serving/putting it on. anyways. this yrs speaker was todd wilson, hes a hoot. and was by far the easiest speaker to work/deal with. he had no requests/demands and was super funny to talk with. i really enjoyed laughing and being encouraged to home school another yr. ha we are home educating through high school, with the exception of allowing the kids to graduate home school high school at home, then go 1 yr to grab an official hs diploma if they want to apply to a post secondary school that is not hs friendly.

anyways, conf feels "old" to me, im not a newbie anymore. i noticed a lot of babies and younger moms who attended. this is AWESOME for sure! i just made me fell old. ha.

i sat in all the sessions and 1 work shop, hit up vendor hall where i spent. 0. nadda, zippa, nola. nothing. i did spend 20 at the used curric and i have a book order on route from the states making my grand total for all homeschool books 400. not too bad for 3 kids, buying some new and a lot used!

i dont really have a plan for next yr. to be honest, im just winging it. it will all work out and everything will be fine.

my greatest desire is for life school to be relational first. making memories and working on that character building...mine first, then them. haha

anyways, shawn joined us...hahaha

we spent 2 nights at our friends cabin. first night we crashed and went to bed, the second night we had a fire, talked, relaxed and enjoyed kid free conversation! it was AWESOME. i was super stoked to sleep in and was dis made to wake up at 7:15!!!! what?!?!?! not fair! ha

we made it home for noon, and a HUGE THANK YOU MOM AND DAD for watching the girls! nate is in the states with his aunty and uncle, suffering at the great wolf lodge. ha he will be home wed night

i checked on my baby birds. they are getting so big! they are 3 days old in this pic ad there are 4 of them. joey wasnt touching them, she was pointing!

i got all this. for FREE!!!!!! some dude dropped them off to GIVE away. i got a full set of math u see algebra for FREE! unused! i also got ancient civilizations and around the world in 180 days new and FREE! HUGE score!

i got this bad boy! getting ready for high school transcripts! i was told this is the only book you need and i got it for 10 used, my biggest spend

i got all this for 20! all the work books are unused. score

now to get through this yr....im thinking we are done. with the cabin build starting this week! EEEK. company and life, im going to shelf school for the yr....but i do need to spend some time in the school room to put away, pull out and clean up. and some how put some kind of a plan together for next yr....cause ill have a MIDDLE schooler!!!!!!!!!!!!! what????? man, im OLD! ha 0 comments

monday

monday morning we were up and in the car at 8:15. my friend is out of town so i picked her kids up for zoo camp and to spend the day with us. joey and i had the morning to just us. so. much. fun!!! my mini me!

we had to wait for costco to open. we spent 20 mins sitting in the grass, me drinking coffee. joey talking and LOVING the one on one time. im so thankful for this little girl. i cant imagine my life with out her

we tried on eye glasses. she doesnt need them but she had a hoot trying them all on

we had an HOUR to kill before zoo camp pick up, so i found this "rocket ship" as joey called it and i pushed her for an HOUR in it. we went everywhere and she had so much fun

we did buy flowers. haha

"everything is awesome when your name is johana!" nate made that song up for her. i also got her a pair on sunglasses for herself.

we went to the new board walk. its so nice, i decided that chris and i need to hire a sitter and go there on a date

every table had fresh, real flowers. what a change in this place. its really nice!

birds, blooms and messes

my little birds yesterday. 4 days old

my apple tree is in bloom. so pretty

check out how big this tree is now! its really grown. i have shade! ha

so this am joey went to help clean the sink in the bathroom...

yea, a HUGE help

i cant get a pic of the amount of water everywhere. oh well, in installing a work ethic right? after she left, i cleaned it again....only to have her use it an hr later and washed her feet in the sink. her muddy feet. all over the floor, the sink, the mirror....i didnt say a word. i just wiped. ha

and with that my blog is updated. im getting ready for a house full of company this week and the cabin build is starting! yipeeeeeeeeee! 0 comments

sat

nate went out to work with chris sat, i stayed home till noon and came up with the girls. nate showed me all the hard work he did

chris set the forms

and took lots of measurements. i helped too. this is the toilet, sink and shower placement!

normally we dont pay the kids to help around the house. but we both felt that nate deserved 25 for his hard work fri night and all day sat. chris said he worked hard all day, did not complain and was helpful. so we paid him 25 to put towards his trip

nate was thrilled!

sat night after the girls went to bed i found a little puppy party...i love finding this stuff

i wonder what they thought of the whole set up? ha

ellie earned sleeping with me. but once again i had to take a pic to prove to her that i was there. haha.

monday

chris and nate went back to the land on monday to work. i stayed home and worked. i cleaned, and cleaned, washed and purged 5 bags of stuff for sally ann. i made a point to stop and find a new park for the girls to play at...and to the dirt she goes

tues the city came to flush out the hydrant. so fun. the kids had a blast playing in the water

my heart

ellie made some sidewalk art. its me, ellie and joey. just the girls she said. im in the middle, whats that blue blob under my face? a blanket. i asked ellie what?? and she said "i drew you with a blanket because you love to sleep" thats my girl. hahaha

art! we worked on an art project. so simple. take string and glue it to a think paper and let dry

then paint! i told joey tues morning we were going to make an art project and paint while eating breakfast and she dropped her spoon, put her hands to her face and says "oh that makes me so happy!" hahaha
