nate had a play date yesterday. they were having a picnic

notice she has the basket of dishes and food
nate has the lap top

hahaha i thought this was so funny!

then it was time to drive to n&p's house. nate is turning on the gps. so we know how to get there and don't get lost...

nate and i were busy today

he helped me bake...yeah right!

we did lemon/almond loaf

corn meal bread

and i spent 2 hrs making a treat for chris. from scratch. french onion soup

nate helped me clean up after

he did the whole floor. good kid!

then it was time to take the soup out of the oven

then the handle snapped and the soup fell in the oven making a glorious mess

lesson learnt. no pots in the oven even for 5 mins, stop laughing chris

i was SO sad. i spent so much time on this. boo

but i am PLEASED how i responded, after i cried, i cleaned some of the mess up (the oven i will do later) and did not get mad. just sad

then nate came over and gave me a kiss to help me feel better

and what da ya know

it worked!

Mel, have Chris try this and let me know if he likes it! I am not a FOS person, but I LOVE Epicure's ready made mixes usually!

Melanie, how I feel with you!!!!!!!!!!!
All the effort, and not even down the sink, it is a mess in the oven! How good we have kids who can comfort us in such a situation.Nathaniel semes to enjoy it as a kitchen helper. You are a good teacher! Hope the soup was good , at last if there was a rest left to tast.Wish you courage to try again. Love . Muetti
