it's all fun and games: school!

we are on our first week of school and as of today, thursday, we did 3 days...sigh....BUT on wed i took my phone into the school room to "capture" our day...to only have my phone DIE at 11:30!!! so there is NO pics of nate.

to be honest, i have NO clue how this yr will go. im thinking ill stick to my "soft start" idea until nov. there are a lot of activities that ive signed us up for...and that messes with my day....

but...back to the school plan. ellie is in grade 1 and im focusing on the calendar, reading, more reading, some printing and READING! with some math tossed in. ha

after calender we reviewed her reading cards from all about reading level 1. today (thursday) she finished them all

then we focused on how to hold a pencil properly. ellie really struggled with this last yr. simply REFUSING (swiss???) to learn how to hold a pencil the right way. i ordered a pencil holder from wish for .30 and after ONE day!!! she got it!!!!

while joey. sweet joey. works on her school....on wed she did her dinosaur book from ursi! it kept her busy while i worked with ellie

then i realized that i really need to get something on the go for joe during school ...cough..

then its reading time. ellie reads 2 books, i read 1 and joey picks one. joey picked a book on minerals and nate jumped in to show us his real crystals

then we took a break to fix ellies toe. this is why i go with a "loose" school. as ellie ran into the school room with her books to read out loud, the door CLOSED on her TOE NAIL!!!! oh. my. word. the blood. the tears....and about 30 mins later i had her calm, cleaned and ready to read...as nate found the other part of her missing toenail!!! (barf!!!)
