cabin

fri after swimming we packed up and headed to the cabin.  look what we drove to see!  GRASS!  it looks so different with the bright green grass!
i added a few new items, nate has a new bed set
and i bought a larger carpet for the porch. the other rug is in the upper level. i love this rug so much!  i want one for my house!  i also added 6 curtains to the porch to give it a more cozy feel
sat ellie and i went to the river.  the leaves are turning!
but i dont mind, i love the fall and the turning of colors
the trail to the river it getting more filled in with brush as the yrs go by
i could not get over how bright and full this patch of leaves are
 the river
 more river
 my ellie joy!
i picked this cool leaf and left it on the table. i came back to this.  joey drew it. haha LOVE it
we checked out the train museum!  so much fun this place is.  i highly recommend to visit. there is no cost, its by donation only
there was about 6-8 trains on the tracks, they are not open yet and are waiting to be refurbished. but you are able to walk around outside and climb on them
 discovering
then i yelled "smile!" and got this pic
 more trains outside
 snow remover!
then we went into the museum part but i didnt take any pics!  it was a huge building, filled with all the different sections of trains, from check in to the mechanics, from memorabilia to past conductors. it was impressive!

then we went to the HUGE building that housed 4 trains that we could walk through!  there was 3 more but they arent ready for tours yet.  i think i had more fun than the kids!  ive never been on a real train before so i was able to see what the caboose and the engine train looks like and the passenger cars!
this was a refurbished 1st class passenger car from the 50's looked like.  joey was in the sleep part
i was impressed by how tall and big they were. way more spacious than air canada! ha
after we visited the museum, we went to the library then to visit our neighbor to feed the donkeys...

i went back to the cabin to finish this bad boy.  i can count on 1 hand how many books ive bought new.  from walmart on the 40% off table.  3.  this was one of them.  i picked it up last weekend and read 1/2 of it at the cabin.  then was too busy this week to finish it.  once i got to the cabin, i cracked it open and finished it off. it was one of the best books ive read this yr.  top 5 for sure!
sat night after a perfect fall day, we came back to the cabin to have a cook out and sit by the fire.  so nice!
 ellie joy!
 chris was tired ha
we ended up leaving the cabin sun morning to get to church for the fall kick off, then home to get ready for the week.  i feel that it was too short of a cabin visit.  i truly enjoy being there. i LOVE the no wifi/cell/t.v or news!  unforch due to plans and life we wont be back until oct...but until we met again cabin!  stay strong! ha

and with that, we plan on doing some more school this week, with LOT'S of activities in between!  why do book work when its SO nice to be outside! the perfect weather, not to hot or cold, and the parks are empty cause school is back in session! haha

have a great week everyone!

Nate is growing so big, he looks like a big boy. I appreciate your efforts of giving us a blog to follow along the children's growing up years. Thank you Melanie. Lots of activities and good memories. One more thing, Yes, it's grand that you can leave Nate to take care of he girls. A wonderful gift. God bless all of you and lots of love to all.
