poor peppa pig and friends. i guess they got in trouble? ha. i found this after i put joey to bed...
monday was our first day back to school for 2020. and it went AWESOME! chris was home, he was sick so i wasnt sure how it was going to pan out...i spent sunday and saturday prepping for school for all the kids. to be honest, ive been slacking the last yr with school.
i know you go through season of life and that treads into school as well. ive been doing more activities than book work, the kids are NOT behind, but they are not ahead either. i knew i had to make some changes in life to get more book work done...and i needed to get out of my funk
ive been in this funk the last yr...the summer was hard, then i went into the school year struggling...after company left for Christmas, i took a few days at the cabin to rest and make lists of how i want to see things and how i can make changes to make it happen...
im SO thankful for chris and my sister. they both think a like and are PERFECT for me to talk to. and over time ive come up with a plan so stick to!
im NOT a schedule person. im more about routine. which is similar...to me a schedule is based on time slots, and that causes me anxiety and pressure. routine is having a flow for the day and "walk through the day"
our school flow is good...but i wanted to ass more subjects...so after many hrs and a few glasses of wine. i had my school plan done! which is funny cause that was my last glass of wine. im doing dry jan...and prob feb...im almost 2 wks in and dont miss it! unless im having a good supper that would pair a glass...anyways!
nate is on line for 6 subjects. i moved around some of his courses and this term he's doing
2 grade 8 language art programs. one is reading and comprehension, the other is grammar and basic English
gr 7 social studies
gr 7 personal finances
gr 7 introductory to music
gr 7 french
we are using www.acellus.com its 33 a month for 6 courses
then for book work we are using
spelling work out (cause i want my kids to know how to spell)
apologia general science, which im LOVING! its super easy to use and mark, plus he now has exams
Jump In for writing. i scored this on sale for 25! its normally 75
i also found a public school pac social studies course with the teachers key for 20!
and reading. every day he reads 2 chapters...
1 week in and i marked his work last night, its going really well! so im pleased!
for activities he's doing cadets 2 times a week, swimming and youth
oh and im SO happy! i loath cooking, such a waste of time. all that prepping, buying, dragging, cleaning for food! sigh....but last week i made 4 suppers, from scratch and everyone liked it!
i did a chicken stir fry with epicure spice
turkey soup! egg roll in a bowl, and beef and noodles. score for me for using ALL the produce in the fridge before i was forced to buy food thurs night...
nate funny. he came home from a cadets and opened the fridge and cupboards and said "what a glorious sight!" hahaha
i even went for 2 walks ALONE!
monday! school day! nate working away
