we met with the speech pathologist today regarding nate's speech issues. it has been decided that nate should start speech therapy in the fall. at first i was caught off guard because i was not (nor am i) concerned. from that i went running to guilt! which i will spare you's all with those details. wanna know what totally helped? and with in minutes i was back to total cool and then excitement! why? we get FREE speech therapy, with parental classes on how to teach kids to speak, what to look for, he is now signed up for 2 more classes (fun classes) like mom and me rhyme, read, speak and learn and i get hands on teaching to better teach him. for free! yippee! i am SO stoked about it! all. for. free!
back to what helped me. sure god's word is always a good start but to be honest, i thought about my friend at the juggling act and what she shared a few months ago

i didn't face exactly what she did; i was feeling guilt for not doing enough or something wrong that made it happen or how could i have missed it-ness...
but it's ok. i am just glad that i live in a great province that offers such amazing services (for free!) and we were able to catch it early and correct it quickly!
nate is having a hard time pronouncing certain words, which is very common at his age, it's nothing to worry about and super easy to correct!
thanks p for being so open and helping me out months later!

Hey Mel,
thanks for sharing. I'm going to get Maya assessed (also love the free part of Ontario Early Year centers). She is very vocal and babbles a lot but she isn't really verbal. There's a few sounds that I know mean certain things, but others would never guess what they are or that they are anything other than babble. Hear you on the "what have I done wrong".
I'm glad you're getting all that help and hopefully things with Nate will all work out.
Love, Ursi
