wed morning we landed in grand turk. this was an AMAZING day of sun and fun and discovering how eye surgery changed my life! ha. seriously was i was blown away by how having my eyes done freed me up to do so many things! i love travelling with no contacts and such! life changing!
we landed and skipped the pool and shops and instead....
rented this private boat from a local who took us out to do what ever we wanted! we went with 3 others so there was 5 in total. the boat owner is tim who told us his story, after being a lawyer in boston and realising he was not doing what he loved, he sold everything, bought this boat and lives in the turks doing what he loves...he was a great guy who loved living, he was not into making money but helping us see the island that he loves. we were given the chance to see things as a local and not a tourist! the 3 other's that we went with were also canadian (we met them the day before at the meet and greet) 2 of them were from n.b also. haha
first stop was snorkeling with the sting rays! off this private island
SO peaceful. i fell in love with the water and fish! we spent a good hour here then moved along to private coral reefs to snorkel
the guy from n.b stuffed his pockets with bread so we were able to feed the fish! it was AMAZING. and there was NO one with us. just us 5 in the ocean. i did not bring my camera in the water but my sister did, i didn't get a chance to get the pics off her camera before i got home so there are no water pics for now....
anyways
after another hour of snorkeling we hit the great wall. i am not exact on the distance of the drop but basically the water goes from 100 feet to 5,000 drop. we snorkeled over that and hit more corals for another hour or so. again just us.
then we got back in the boat and tim was like, you guys have me as long as you want, what else do you want to do. we were shocked that he wasn't in a rush so we decided on following his lead....he took us to a private beach and a restaurant for some local food
the only pic i got of tim. think of the typical older island dude. ha
our boat on the private beach
cry and i swam while the others ate and drank
us in the boat on the way back
then we had to get back to the ship....this whole day cost 60.00. amazing!
we got cleaned up and did dinner...i skipped the pic of the food bec can you guess what i had? yep, chicken....hahaha
desserts....the one cake was cookie cake SO good
walking the dinner off. hahaha
