thanksgiving wkend was spent at the cabin. we relaxed and had....sigh....family pics....the last family pic we had was when joey was 7 months old! we hired a photographer to come to the cabin and take pics....chris wanted the river but with the dry summer our river was a trickle. i went down on sat and took these pics...

i learned a HUGE lesson. i put together all the kids/chris's outfits, and had them try them all on. but i never tried my outfit on :( could i have chosen a more unflattering outfit? lesson learned. next time, take a minute for me....oh well!

Quinn, joey got your mail and promptly coloured!

last monday night, my door bell rang. i was sent a flower arrangement! after asking chris if he sent it, and he said no, i KNEW who it was from! THANK YOU mom and dad! joey helped me arrange it!

SO beautiful!!!!

the next morning i woke to this. ellie snipped a flower from my bouquet and put it in a jar, then wrote me a note and put it on my night stand so when i woke up id find this.... there is nothing more meaningful to me than this!

then nate downloaded a new app and i found these....

we came back to the cabin to stay the night. the original plan was for all the kids to stay the night in the tent.....but it didnt happen....

but i decided to cancel the event due to poor attitude's and over all bad behavior!

but friday! friday! was wonderful! i had nate start the fire at noon, just for us! we chatted by the fire, laughed and ignored the responsibilities of life....

then sat night, it HAPPENED! all the kids spent the night in the tent at the cabin!

swim!

it happened! we found a new pool to accommodate our home school crew

nate was begging me NOT to take pics of him....but i did....

im sorry!

this is the BIG news. at this pool each kid has to take a swim test.

and ellie being ellie

so much like my sister. took the test...she had to doggy paddle for 30 seconds, then swim the length of the pool and back....and she did! with nate at her side...

and gracie behind her cheering her on!

and more kids joined in

to help her pass!

and she DID! then she went right to the diving board and JUMPED. telling grace to do the same!
