one storm sunday afternoon i met up with the A team- Amanda, April and Aralee....we took in a work shop on local medicinal plants...i made a tea from the earth and it was quite tasty
our lunch was "from farm to table" meaning everything on the plate came from the farmers ground. including the spices, flours, salad and meat.  the best lunch.  we made 2 healing balms and salts. i didnt take pic bec i was off enjoying myself....theres nothing greater than great food that you dont have to make or clean up and no one calling "mel! or mom!"

4th annual STEM day

for stem this yr we did our own version of body wars. it was soooo muchhhhhhh workkkkkkkk

we had the kids trace their bodies then broke up the lessons into mini lessons on the different systems of the body.  over 40 kids showed up.  we ran out of time and only did 3...but we had fun

blood!
some of the set up
honestly the whole day was a blur to me.  it was busy and i admit i spent most of my time talking to friends....oops...
ellie with her white and red blood cells
we mixed it with plasma
oh yeah! and Judah joined us.  he came for the night but ended up staying 3...ha

after each lesson the kids would add to their body. we did blood, heart, lungs, muscles, cardio, brain and skeleton
then we made poop. it was nasty but very educational.  we mushed the food up and broke it down with juices and saliva...then pulled it through a nylon to represent the small and big intestine, then rolled it into a tube and pushed it out a small hole in a baggie...it came out looking like poop! ha

i stopped taking pics at this point.  aralee arrived and i had way too much to catch with with her.  so we went and chatted....but it was a fun day!
