yesterday was another hot sunny day, i got the kids up and ready for another park. we had a bag of moldy bread so i thought we should find us some hungry ducks!
first stop coffee and snacks!

my coffee machine is broken and we are waiting for a new part. i am in serious sad shape with no coffee sob sob sob
then we hit the trails. nate picked the route

man. i wished i had a nature guide of some sort! nate has so many questions and we stop to look at so much and i have NO idea how to answer his questions or what things are. i keep saying "man, i wish your dad was here" haha
anyone know of a small guide book i could bring with us?
and it was a big day! we found a trail that i know well but nate didn't that was to narrow for a stroller so i let nate take the trail alone! by himself!
he LOVED it! i could see him about 50% of the time

then we found more ducks to feed
ellie kept herself busy playing with this one, tiny crumb!
she loves being in the stroller, the faster the better
my almost 6 yr old!
then we stopped for more snacks and a talk about issues that are important to a boy

and off to have lunch in another park with daddy! love the look on her face when she saw him!
we were out for another 3.5 hrs. we came home and i gave ellie her bottle, she fell asleep in my arms after. she was SO tired. i rocked her for another 30 mins. haha
with all the constant go go goness...nate is getting worn out. haha. he slept in today and yesterday until 8. this is a record for my boy, he normally wakes up around 5. ah, it's good for him to be active!
it's friday! wheee. i'm staying home this morning to play catch up. we are off to friends tonight for a bbq. i love the summer!
-i've had my first "why is nate done his school?" talk with a neighbor. i am glad that i am confident in this area and don't give a rip what anyone says....anyways.....public school is out today. the kids come over to our place everyday to play when they get home. well the kids naturally talk and the topic came up that nate has been done 'school' for a few wks now....the question was asked in a judgy mcjudgersone tone....i simply said that nate had fulfilled all legal requirements for k in jan, so tec we were done school then *cough* but i kept him doing 'school' until last week bec well, i am the principal and i said so...haha. after i explained that nate did finish k (as if its any of their business) and is moving on to gr 1 in sept. i take his academic's serious and i am doing a good job at home education. i was nice as pie as i shared but i made it clear that i would not tolerate any nastiness in this area....it was good and ended good but bottom line is this. do what's best for your own family and instead at picking and being nasty support and love each other!
besides i can say home education is hard. rewarding and anyone can do it....even those who lack patience....like me!
anyways! i am proud of how far i've come. comments don't throw me in a tail spin anymore!
