books!

i put a pile of books on the counter for ellie to peek at....it kept her busy while i made supper. love how my kids love books!
ellie then kept jo busy by bringing toys to her and saying "ellie is kind to jojo"  ive been saying that for awhile now, to bring a positive spin on being a big sister and sharing the toys. ha.  most times jo is covered with toys that ellie brings to her
these are the moments that i never want to forget. the girls are in bed at night, nate will often come and put his head on my lap and just talk.  ill welcome any chance to hear his heart.
ellie at 10:30 in the morning. she wanted to go to bed. hahaha i obliged
this is a peek into my secret stash of child hood books! as i browse for the kids, i have come across these books, books that i LOVED as a kid. so i pick them up and put them away...haha...i do read them to the kids but i want to keep them in good condition so i put them up high. hahaha
cry, jon....remember these?  2 comments

modern day communications

so. ive noticed there is a shaming, or so it seems to me, of mom's (especially) who use their phones too much, or are made to feel less super mom of she's using her ipad/computer/what ever sorts screen she chooses to use...for what ever reasons....

this week, i was doing my reg morning routine.  get ellie up, dressed, fed while nate plays his 30 mins of games....while ellie's eats at the table eating her breaky, made by me! ha , i brew a coffee, snap open the lap top, and browse.....quickly because time doesn't fall freely at my hands much. ha

i felt guilty. like i always do....when i use my screens when the kids are awake

chris came down as i was finishing up and he asked "whatcha doing?"

i said "just checking my sites, always weather, cnn/news/f/b and email"  but i felt guilty!

then i had this not me, not my style to think things through and come up with this freeing thought!

how is me using a screen ANY different from my parent's reading the newspaper when i was a child?

not much different to me!  i get my news, weather, communications, banking, shopping etc all by a screen in place of a newspaper....and how many of us remember being "ignored" (im using that word loosely) during that time?  i bet a lot of us!

so then i shared my thought with chris and he laughed at me and quickly removed any lingering guilt of using my 10 mins in the morning to check my sites out while "ignoring" the kids

hummmm.....deep thought......screens are modern day newspapers!

happy friday everyone!

ellie joy

i found ellie like this. holding a pic of nana and papa. i asked her what she's doing? she said "i say hi to nana and papa!" then a round of "go see nana? papa? shawn? quinn? charlie? aunty?  soon???

what a card. i tell her we will see them soon. ha

so ellie has this love for shawn. the uncle who ignores kids bawahhhh. she is constantly calling him on her phone, talking to him, asking for him, asking me to spell his name so she can draw it, she wants to show him her toys and visit him. its adorable but im like" hu????  how and why???? uncle shawn???? haha
i caught this on the couch. the girls were playing together. ellie was such a help, she was bringing her toys and then cleaned up her puke
she reaches in to get it
grabs a blanket and wipes her up
and back to playing. im so excited that the girls are going to get what i have with my sister!
gangata ellie. who wanted to talk to uncle shawn....she thinks my phone is face time, all the time....ha this pic is for you shawn from ellie
some of nate's lego creations. i love to peek at his work. he works away with his lego daily. totally worth it!

 more snow. sigh
ellie my little helper, making supper with me. she is a huge help! for real. she puts things away for me when asked and grabs diapers, blankets and cleans up spills when asked....WITH OUT an attitude. so refreshing!
nate watched jo for me while i spent time with ellie. hes a help too, just argues more. ha
jo. happy jo.  mon our routine was off and jo ended up spending her awake time with nate and i for school. it worked out AWESOME!  i was able to teach nate with her there the whole time and yes, i truly enjoyed holding my baby for most of it...and yes, i can hear my dad saying "shes never going to crawl if you hold her all the time" haha
poor guy, i wonder what he did to get this treatment????  i found him on nate's board the other day....haha 0 comments
