it's all fun and games

the hardest day!

yesterday, i was sitting in church when our lead pastor announced the church is planning on a 21 day daniel fast for lent, the days leading up to easter. doing a quick calculation i realized i would be away for most of it. off the hook! then p.tim quickly described the 21 day daniel fast...basically it's a fast from everything but water, fruits and veggies

my first thought was

1- that's easy. i can totally do that

2-wait. that's not smart for me at this time in my life. over the last month ive made some noticeable changes in my diet...i eat 3-4 times a day, meat every other day (almost) lots of iron and protein just to name a few. i've already noticed a difference, chris too...ive gain weight, not that i can tell you how much because i dont and will not weigh myself! but my clothes are tight and my face is round. this is AWESOME. in the future i can go into more detail about why ive decided to do this....

so instead i quickly thought, what can i give up that would make me pay (haha)???

my answer made me quiver in fear

sweat broke out

i started to have a mini panic attack

before i could chicken out, i looked at my freind who was just happened to be sitting there beside me and said "coffee. starting tomorrow"

so, today, the first time EVER. i have gone with out a coffee and i have 20 more days to go...which i KNOW will lead me into march break....sigh...

i have to thank my friends and family who helped me through the day today. because, im not gonna lie. it was ROUGH!!! i had the shakes, anxiety tried to butt in around 12, but i made a tea...which ive now decided is the drink for the weak (sorry dad) and sipped my tea as i taught science (metamorphosis of butterflies) and history (black history in canada) but im sorry. it did no good. i felt sluggish, sweaty and blue all day

but ive made it! i did it! i went 24 hr with out a java!!!! i can do 20 more......sigh

until then my bestie in the the cup, i miss you....i will see you in 20 days.....

for me, this is the hardest fast i have ever done!

play date

i was making lunch the yesterday and look how the eggs fell in the pan!!! too funny

we had judah and micah over yesterday for some play. after letting them play on the laptop for 15 mins, i took them outside. we walked to the park. our van is in the shop so i couldnt take the kids anywhere, my original plan was to have chris take my car and leave the van and take the kids somewhere....oh well....they enjoyed the park down the street

johana loved everything. she was leaning over the pole, touching the leaves, dirt, sticks and showing me the mess

then we hit up the last snow patch

the discovery of a toddler

the older kids discovered the MUD. i let them go at er...they loved getting stuck in the mud and losing boots...haha i made them clean off in the snow and we took the long way home to burn off more energy and dry up them boots and pants. ha

i crawled up and brought down the step and let the kids go at er....ellie LOVED it, she went down twice with out me holding her! when did my little girl grow up so fast????

irishtown!

it was so warm on tues, so i bundled the kids up and we hit up irishtown. it was so nice to be out. the park was so quiet, we could hear the birds, watch the squirrel race through the trees and enjoy the park. it was a truly enjoyable outing

the main path was recovered and clear. the secondary routes were snow covered and not as easy to push the stroller through

my "easy, wind blown" hair look...i dont even attempt to straighten it during the weekdays. ha

QUINN!!!!

fri morning, during school time, i went down and watched ellie play with her baby. there is nothing like watching her play. i love it

she is growing up way too fast. where did my baby ellie go???

friday after school, we drove up to springhill to visit jon and jess (we need to do this more!) and pick up QUINNY!!!! for the weekend! we were ALL so excited to have quinn for the weekend, all! by! himself!

but first we spent time with copper!

i waited about 15 mins before i put the dude in my lap. i waited for another 10 before i started kissing his cheeks! they were totally made to be kissed! so cute

i love my copper!

jo wasted zero time in getting into cop's toys

then we headed home with QUINN!

quinn gave us our valentine day presents!

johana held on to hers and drank her bottle...which is funny cause i totally took the botttle away from all my kids by 13 months....yet her she is at 18 months with hers.........cough.......
