the girls

so, i discovered something new about me and my personal feeling, which was quite opposite from when nate was younger.  when nate was a preschooler, i went to mom clubs and put nate in a play class, no problem.

this yr, while reviewing and planning my year and activities, i had to pick and choose what i wanted to do.  after discussion among friends, most of them (ok all but me) are attending a home school friendly mom's club, there is only 1 in the city. you bring your preschoolers and put them in a class, and your home school kids are also in a class, with helpers who are there to assist with 1 hr of school work and then 1 hr of planned activity. perfect!  i can go to a mom's group that cares for my kids and socialize with friends!  perfect!

but, something wasnt right, i didnt feel peace, i couldn't put my finger on it but after a few days of reflecting over it i realised it was a easy-peasy conclusion!  i simply dont want to put the girls in a class, away from me and away from each other.

and then i realised i dont care what anyone thinks about this!  i simply told my friends, ill join next yr or not, but its not on the plans for this yr.  bummer that ill miss out, but im sure ill make up for it in other areas

so i did some looking and searching and i found a mom and me class for the girls! that i can be with them, of course there is the home school kids problem, nate.  what would i do with him?  he cant go obviously bec of his age...then bingo, it hit me!  ill drop nate off with his dad for an hour a week with a book.

so thurs we had our class, i dropped nate off and i took the girls. the class was packed, and as soon as i sat on the mat, both of my girls started bawling!  oops! haha. i explained to ellie i wasnt leaving her!  i was staying the whole time, she sat on my lap, with jo on the other said of my lap and after the first song and story, she loved the class!

we sang songs, had 2 stories, made a craft and had some free play. i was able to chat with some new to me mom's, ha ppl i dont know and voila. it was a great morning!

its been 2 days now and ellie is still talking about her class, with jo jo, singing the songs we learned and talking about the books. so yea, awesome for her and awesome for me for finding out what was bothering me and finding a solution. on my own!

the above pic, is ellie in her class

stinky pants has a new hobby. she loves to crawl into the front room and throw all the books off the shelf!  she now uses the stool as a walker and i find her walking with it all over the main floor!
 busted! and grabbing a toy
 proudly showing me
ha mom! i did it!  and i made a mess too!

fab-ou fri!

the weather has been SO nice, im talking +28 nice!  i took the kids to the skate park yesterday morning to surprise nate. he has been asking me all week to go and we've been so busy i just couldn't make it happen.  so after breaky on fri, i packed a lunch and grabbed a coffee and went to enjoy the sun
johana sat and watched the whole time. we took her up and down the ramps in the stroller, which she LOVED, i even took nate's scooter and went on the ramps!
nate was talking away while i snapped this pic. i was just enjoying his chatter.  after i took the pic, he looked at me and said"mom, thanks for home schooling me" i had a tear in my eye.
ellie ran and ran and ran and ran. the girl never stops!
she picked a flower for my hair too. and yes, i know it's long. too long. just havent had a chance to cut it!
johana was just happy. always happy!

we got home and i forced ellie to have a nap, she hasent napped all week, which completely messed up my plans of schooling nate while she napped! sigh which made the week interesting BUT i didnt lose my temper, not even once!

then nate and i sat down to do school and i can honestly say, for the first time ever. and i mean EVER. he did all his work with out one complain, with out losing his temper, he was ENJOYABLE and we had a GREAT time together. at the end of the day he came to me and said"i want every school day to be like this" me too bud! me too!

maybe his love tank was filled from the skate park? maybe he's maturing? maybe it was just bec he was alone, with out distractions? maybe it was the moon? what ever it is, please jesus let it happen again! haha

i rewarded him with allowing his friend to come over and play an HOUR of mindcraft and i took his sister out of the room, so they wouldnt bother him!  that was gold to him. ha

last night, i went and saw war room. it ended up being 8 of us going, which i am SO thankful my friend saved the seats for us, the theater was packed. the movie was great.  what i loved the most about it was the uncompromising, un politically correct, un willing to change the words to make it not so 'christian'.  it was real truth, raw and real. go see it if you can, it's a great movie

and i also have to add (can you tell the kids are sleeping and i have quiet to type. ha) nate and i watched the movie called mcfarland together the other night, it is a great, wholesome family movie! no swearing, sex or violence and it opened up the topic of pther cultures and life style. its on netflicks!

and with that, nap time is over!

when the days are long and full of challenges, i take my joey jo and snuggle with her
 she melts the negative away
 love her

we started back to full school on monday and wouldnt you know it, ellie decided to stop napping.  so out goes mt plans and in place is plan b "just wing it" so i am!

monday was brutal
tues was better
today was wonderful!

i think nate is really maturing and is learning to go with it.  i am so proud of him and his take charge attitude.  after breaky this morning he tole me he was going upstairs to do all his independent work.  after i put the girls down we took an hr to go over some more work, ellie was done being alone and joined us.  nate was able to work with ellie getting into everything!  i am super proud of him

i am not sure how the yr is going to pan out....my plan is not going to work, so im asking god to show me what i can to with ellie during the more quiet/lesson/teaching time with nate...ill get back to yous on that! ha

nature walk

jo was so upset when she realised the snacks were gone.  haha. love her!

after a great school day, i packed the kid up and hit the woods for a nature scavenger hunt, this was actually a school project that i turned into a fun walk, as nate called it.  we spent 2 HOURS in the park!  so fun. i cant wait till i can ditch the stroller and go deeper in the woods. maybe i should invest in a back carrier?hummmm?  anyways!  it was a great way to end the school day
ive noticed nate is really loving on both his sisters lately. im proud of my boy
 naters and jo jo
nate was bringing the ducks over, by tossing crumbs and calling
 here they come!
they spent a good 40 mins running and playing with the ducks!  my friend and her crew were going to join us today, but bec the weather is so nice they went to the trailer for the week.  0 comments
